Listened to the album the other day - National Anthem & Off to the Races strike me as standouts alongside Born to Die and Video Games, would love to see a video to both.

Noticed in the chart update today that the album is back in the top 10 but no sign of Blue Jeans in the singles chart top 40?

Cool, yeah both those songs are fantastic I hope National Anthem in particular will be a single in the future

And Blue Jeans is catching on, it's moving up on itunes plus there's been little promo for it so it's great it's moving up

Absolutely love it!!

Completely forgot she was performing at Jazz Cafe! It's crazy, this woman currently has the 2nd biggest selling album Worldwide and is performing at the Jazz Cafe in front of 350 people!

Right so it's being released as a single yeah, not as part of some weird EP thing which actually counts towards the album instead?

She really isn't someone who is going to have #1 singles to be fair. Although both her previous 2 singles went Top 10 iirc. She certainly can sell albums though.

Yes that's a fair point, though I don't think there's anything stopping her having more top 40 singles. Is Born to Die close to 2x Platinum or has it achieved it?

What does that translate as in terms of certification?

In the UK 2x platinum is 600k shipped. She'll certainly be there by late Summer at the latest imo. Her Jazz Cafe show has attracted very positive press reviews so far. I agree with the bloke in The Mirror, she's not going to be an artist who shines in an enormodrome.

That translates as Platinum

Every 300k sold is Platinum

Shipped (i.e. the amount sent out to retailers but not necessarily sold to end users). Sometimes there can be a big difference. Depends on the amount of stock on retailer's shelves.

In my opinion, it wouldn't matter if she does

Longevity is what matters. Not how big the venues you play at.

No you're right she won't, it strikes me her success will be similar to that of someone like Tori Amos, celebrated but not over the top

She's still #2 in the mediatraffic worldwide year to date album chart. Incredible, really, especially given her (relative) lack of support in the US. Although she's just crossed the 200k sales barrier there!
