Dark Paradise Demo (very different to album version)

PS Video Games is up for an Ivor Novello Award - much deserved imo!

PPS Talking of amazing demos, isn't it time this whole song leaked? The 37 seconds we get are just incredible.

I love this album

Every time i listen to a track, i feel like I am transported into a film. The album is cinematic. I may of been slow in realising but oh my god, Lana is no fluke. She is such ar real deal. I think she could be US's answer to Florence Welch. Pushing Alternative pop in such weird and wonderful ways that the likes of Kate Bush and Bjork previously did.

That's the word - cinematic! I never tire of this album and I play it a LOT. Being saying it for ages, she's a MAJOR talent! She's already written some amazing songs this early in her career (as LDR and Lizzie) and the beauty is that most of them that aren't released (yet!) are on youtube.

Currently obsessing over this 37 seconds of unimaginable beauty and really craving the full version:

She is working on a "mixtape" so that could be one of the new songs. I wonder if that mixtape will turn into an EP or a re-release

Yeah, it's gone a bit quiet on that front, I hope it happens. Maybe she will combine it with the re-release of the Lizzie Grant album and make it a double? She has so many songs it's crazy. Her UK record label chief said she has enough for 3 further albums already. And I do note Justin Parker (co-writer on Video Games) admitted he contributed very little to that song; it was basically almost all Lana's work.

My favourite song from her Lizzie Grant era. It's a cracker.

She'll do something like a tour at some point, but it'll only be very small venues

...with tickets very hard to come by, I expect.

I described Lana here as "cinematic pop" months ago!!

It is pretty much impossible to listen to the album and not have a strong visual in your mind. I love that.
I can't listen to Summertime Sadness without picturing a really evocative video.

Her sales are holding up great as well! It's the 2nd oldest album in both the UK iTunes & Amazon UK Top 10 (and we all know what the oldest is, don't we??)

OMG why is Fearne f*cking Nostrils Cotton trying to make out that Lana Del Rey would be nothing if she hadn't played her on Radio 1. Yes we get it you played her first but she would have made it anyway.

She keeps making out that Lana blew up to superstardom after that first play.

Rant over...she sounds amazing in the Live Lounge though!

I'm by no means a Fearne fan but fair play to her, she really did latch onto her first (I certainly first heard the amazing Video Games on her show). And Lana has said that she wrote the almost equally amazing Radio after first hearing her song played on Fearne's show.

PS The Live Lounge was extraordinary, wasn't it?

Ah I didn't know that was when Radio was written! Haha that's great though and I think it's unfair to say that about Fearne she does have a point

And when was the Live Lounge? Today?

Born To Die (album) is actually #1 on UK iTunes in reality given that #1 and #2 are 'Now That's' compilations. Amazing result from the Live Lounge exposure. Plus she's performing on The Voice results show next week!

Happy she is gonna be on the voice. I think the Voice will really give her a new fans. Plus my mum will know who she is then.
