An instrumental-only "Video Games" appeared as part of the soundtrack of tonight's Winterwatch on BBC2.

The time when I noticed it was during the floods segment at about 10 to 9 pm.

(It's not yet available online but should be soon.)

And in tonight's show right now. For the "Mystery of the Headless Woodcock" segment.

I'm not sure.

It's possible to see the one from the 15th now. Go to:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...s_1_Episode_2/

Or if that doesn't work directly, go to:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p012...pisodes/player

and play Episode 2.

The song starts about 50.43 minutes in, and it's in a segment about floods.

Wow! That's some collection of stuff you've posted there Veri, keep 'em coming. I have noticed the BBC like to play the instrumental version of Video Games over anything a bit heartbreaking but with hope at the end of the story. Cleverly the hope bit always of the story always just kicks in when they hit those uplifting chorus chords. If I remember correctly I think they once used it on an appeal for starving kids in Africa.

I'm not sure Lana or Justin Parker ever intended the song to be seen in that way, but I suppose its kinda nice its become something of a hope anthem for there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Or at least as far as the BBC are concerned anyway!

Mmm I would say give it a few weeks for a Cola video Makson. Weathers not too good both here and Stateside, she's probably wanting to curl up and keep warm at the mo. But yes, the mind boggles at what she'll do with that one! She tends to totally surprise with her videos doesn't she? Who would have guessed A$AP Rocky as Black JFK for instance?

God knows what this one will turn out like, but I do think it needs to fit in a pet cat and a bottle of a popular carbonated soft drink in there somewhere!

Celebrity Big Brother (on Chanel 5) has just used the instrumental / wordless beginning of "Ride".

(But I think it was a purely instrumental version.)

I agree, it's been too quiet regarding Lana since Paradise came out. She announced Cola as the second single a little while ago as well. Maybe she just has a extended christmas break as she has been constantly working non stop over the last few years.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/ne...dio-album.html It seems she already potting about on the next album, this is great considering there was that thought last year that she'd abandon music and go into acting. As for the Cola video, who knows? Perhaps she's planning something big

I hope she takes her time with the new album personally. Although at the end of the day, if the finishing product is great, it never matters how long time was spent on it

To be fair BTD was rush released after the unexpected success of Video Games and that turned out to be bloody brilliant so who knows what will happen? Lana seems such a prolific songwriter that I would imagine getting enough songs to choose from in order to make a great album won't take too long at all.

A-A-Another album?!?! Already in the works? In a word: WOW!!!

I honestly cannot believe her work rate, I really can't. She's superhuman. An inspiration to everyone. Words...just... fail... me. I'd like to say something insightful and pseudo intellectual, but well I think its been apparent for some time she's pretty much melted my brain with this bombardment of impossibly good music.

There has surely never been anybody like this is the history of music that has done so much in such a brief span of time. Not to her level of pure total quality every time. She doesn't do bad songs, simple as. Just amazing. Correction: make that AMAZING!!! It's ridiculous she could have ever been backed into a position where she felt like she should retire from music, I can't believe the troll brigade nearly took her from us. She's a world beater. A living legend. Unbelievable.

I'm stunned. I've barely digested Paradise and there's more just around the corner. More. I need to lie down. Thank-you Lana!

Is this new material being recorded under a new alter ego? I hope she is sticking with Lana as her name

Mmm can tell I've been out of the loop for a while. I was thinking I was trying to stop being a Lana Junkie for a bit, but it was never going to work. Thank goodness. Just been getting back up to speed with all things Lana. Sorry if everybody knows this already but according to Lana Del Rey online she's apparently releasing Dark Paradise as a single (in Germany only). And it will have video and everything. Well that's rather fab. Sounds like a mix up of the demo version that's been on you-tube and the album track. I will try and link that:

http://lanadelreyonline.com/listen-l...le-radio-edit/

I think am totally confused by the release strategy now, 1 minute its lets promote Paradise, no we're revisiting the track Dark Paradise for the German market, nope we're bringing out a new Album, but hell, I'm still enjoying every moment.

I'm so happy she's writing for a new album already. BTD was one of my favorite albums of not just the year, but all time. Lana is one of those unique artists where I like anything she releases.

I also hope the video for "Cola" is released soon. I enjoy watching the music videos she comes up with.

Is Lana going to perform at the Brits, she clearly has been one of the biggest stars of 2012 and is nominated and won an award last year as well. If so she needs to sing National Anthem as it's the only single that wasn't given a proper chance.

Then I think she should spend time to promote in the US with either Off To The Races or Dark Paradise as a single that is sent to radio. The US singles needs to be a new release. I expect around 5,000,000 worldwide by this time next.

You know what Hands Clean that is actually a very good idea that she sings National Anthem at the Brits (if she is allowed or willing to perform). It is quite literally an anthemic song, especially the live version she performs with the string section and it would be give triumphant end to the Born to Die period.

Whether that would happen or not is another question! But we can but dream.

I also agree with what you say about the US. But I think she's given up on releasing singles over there because the US commercial radio stations just won’t play them. As we've all discussed on here many times the entire US media's apparent dislike of Lana is dumbfounding, especially when she is so big in the rest of the world. It seems to go way beyond the SNL performance which they like to use as an excuse for some almost playground level childish bullying hatred.

But as we've all also said things are improving, Paradise went top 10 in their sales chart, so she's turning things around. I reckon she puts some successful tours together over there and people will come back to her. If anyone can do it, she can.

I highly doubt she'd sing National Anthem at the Brits, that's if she performs at all. Performances at the Brits tend to be of well known songs from the previous year with the exception of Someone Like You, but National Anthem is not her current single for promo plus nobody really knows it other than Lana fans

Cool leaked track!

Sadly I agree with that too BadKid95. I doubt she will perform at all at the Brits, but it’s a nice day dream to have. Hell any of her songs would be good. If they did do a track it would most likely be Ride (I doubt they’d let her do Cola!), which would do me. Would be very nice if she wins too, but they'll no doubt give the award to the mainstream choice of either Taylor Swift or Rihanna, even though for quality of actual music and UK album sales Lana has dominated. Shan't get too bitter about it, at least she is getting acknowledged with the nomination.

It does pish me off how tracks like National Anthem are only known by the Lana fanbase or those that are web literate. What a song, what a video, but then aren't they all? And yet, if you aren't part of the You-Tube generation you’ll struggle to see it. I suppose you could blame that on both the lack of a descent mainstream music show to promote all that is good out there and the way certain sections of the press give her the cold shoulder.

Yet despite this, the most positive thing of all is Lana remains in the people’s choice. In sales, in terms of things like she's apparently the most googled women on the web last year. Although the hate mob would like to pretend you've somehow been manipulated into liking her, the reality is she's is somebody people discover for themselves. And that’s something you just can’t buy.

I guess she has given up on promoting Paradise and we will see no more singles from it as she will be busy soon rehearsing for her European tour
