Lucky old Fearne Cotton (say what you like about here she was definitely instrumental in breaking VG in the UK) has heard West Coast and describes it as 'AWESOME' on her radio show today.

She's coming back - and that is a good thing

I really can't wait to hear West Coast now. There seems to be less negativity around her now as well so maybe the music critics are accepting that she's proven herself and will cut her some more slack this time around

All the articles I've read about her are talking about her iconic imagery and how excited they are for Ultraviolence. The US media may have turned on her, but she's obviously becoming too good and too popular to ignore. I'm really excited to hear the song on Monday now.

Btw, does anyone know what else is meant to be on the album? I'm hoping Black Beauty goes on.

I hope Black Beauty is on it too. Lana even had the video for the song planned but she was so pissed when it leaked. So who knows what will happen now.

Totally agree with that it would be a tragedy if both Black Beauty and Angel Forever don't make the record. As of yet nobody knows the track listing bar Lana and her close associates and friends. After BB and AF getting hacked & nicked I don't think she'll be wanting to tell anyone else because it lets hackers know what they are looking for.

Yeah, I read in an interview a while back that she was considering not using the leaked songs because the whole thing pissed her off. Understandable I suppose but I actually think the Black Beauty leak made me all the more excited for hearing it on the album. I know why she doesn't like leaks but they're useful in keeping fan and media interest ticking over while she's in between albums/singles/tours.

On Fearne Cotton's Radio One show I think. I'm trapped in all day waiting for an electrician to arrive so I'll be glued to my radio. Hopefully it goes on Itunes quickly afterwards.

They're expecting it in the US tomorrow morning, and the billboards are everywhere.

Can't wait! ()

West Coast had its first play just there and will be played again after midday. It's pretty different - lots more guitar as expected, but it still has that hypnotic Lana sound. A nice development of her sound. I'll need to hear it again before I can make a proper judgment though.

It's definitely not what I expected, to me it sounds more Lizzy Grant, and I love it. It's so much better than what I expected, I know she was hyping it up along with her father but I still didn't want to get too excited before hearing it. So goooood The instrumental, lyrics, her voice... Well done, Lana!

Is this it?

So different to what I was expecting. She is officially the new Indie queen. It shows progression as an artist too. Like Videogames I'm not sure how radio friendly it is though. I can't see US radio playing it.

I see her being an albums artist anyway. Thanks for the link, I'm liking it a lot more on second listen.

I think Ride is her best song. It'll take a while for me to like this one as much perhaps but I'm sure I'll have it on repeat for the rest of the day so it'll grow on me quickly.

I think Gods & Monsters is genius. Honestly one of the best songs ever written.

The official audio is on Vevo. I've listened a few times - takes a few listens to pick up everything - but WOW. The synths in the last chorus are chillingly lush. Very organic, raw sounding track. Released here on May 18th.

EDIT: Hit Em Up Style posted official audio link in post #1815.

May 18th? That's friggin ages! That must mean that the album is going to be a few weeks later than May 1st. Maybe the week after West Coast comes here.

It's confirmed on her official website, which I think has crashed. That's a long wait, maybe she has some promotion lined up here? Her first week should be interesting given what happened with BTD.

I hate the Mail but they always manage to get really good photos of Lana, so they're good for something at least. Here's some good ones from Coachella.

Even though I liked Ride more after hearing it more, I liked it a lot right away, the first time I heard it. I'm not feeling that way about West Coast. I'm feeling West Coast would be ok as an album track if the album had other songs I liked better, but that's all.
