Andy was sloppy and there wasn't really that much more in his routine if you allow for the standing still, walking and what didn't look right.. Heidi was more difficult to mark - she got the dancing right and lifted Ok and, as two judges said , she was better at the performance and detail. Her routine was duller and she seemed glued to Andrei - but we have no idea if that reflected her ability, or having a new partner to get used to, or T and D just writing dull choregraphy. She may have more potential with Andrei on what she's shown so far - given his abilities and past success and her success doing what she was given. She's now got two weeks to get the relationship working and for T and D to write her a better routine. .

Andy A shouldn't have been in the bottom two either - both looked as good as some people who lasted near the end - Denise and Colleen were no better than Heidi - wheras Mark was in the Todd league without the humour.

I'm not usually one to cry "racism! racism" but there is a bit of a precedent for "upsets" involving non-white contestants on shows like Strictly. I haven't noticed such a pattern on DOI though.

SCD: Spoony, Heather Small, Don Warrington, Denise Lewis (robbed), Colin Jackson (robbed), Jimi Mistry, Ricky Whittle (robbed), Jade Johnson (not eliminated but a shock bottom 2 before she pulled out due to injury)

Nor am I but I cant help feeling Andy was robbed. But a lot also depends on the voting public. Who do they vote for?

I'm going to assume you're not familiar with Colin Jackson's infamous show dance with the puppets? I think you will find thats why he lost lol. Some of the people you mention were absolutely terrible and were voted out accordingly, and some of the others made it all the way to the end of the show - which they wouldn't have done if they were not liked.

I always thought that one of the reasons Colin lost wasn't his blackness but his feyness and the fact that Len kept banging on about how he wasn't manly and was airy fairy. Yeah, and his show dance.

Denise Lewis was very good but not personable compared to Jill Halfpenny who was well liked. Still she got to the final and I think Jill winning was fair. Both really would have been worthy winners really.

Next week there are a lot fewer with any big fanbase... Matthew and Sam will surely be through, Chico too, probs. Laila will have the Ann Widdecombe vote for a few weeks. Probs a skate-off between Rosemary and Stephane...

Great to see one of the more accomplished skaters voted out eh!

Which contributes to a really great show, full of skating duffers.

It is a skating show, right??

*places hard hat on and awaits the brickbats

Thank you!

Entertainment?? Two and a half hours where I managed to make dinner, put on a couple of washes, hang it up, fill the dishwasher, empty it, and I still saw enough of DOI to form the opinion that it was very poor and the best skater got booted.

So glad I didn't waste my evening. Must have been about 45 minutes of ad breaks.

Depends on how you like to be entertained: slipshod skating or skilled skating. Personally, I prefer the latter.

He had control over his skates, he didn't wobble, and was competent over the ice.

Yes, he was one of the best skaters tonight, and had potential.

Unless there's word on his skating you might expect Sebastien to be the good one with Jennifer. He can dance from his vt, he's got powerful legs and balance, he's supple and he's fit and he's coordinated. If he gets no votes it may not matter because he will be high on the leaderboard- or it may show that the vote does have a racial bias and/or people won't vote for anyone from france.

So you didn't like their music, good for you - it doesn't change that they were big at the time, as I said, during their "best years" and anyone who knew about the UK Top 40 type of chart singles would've known who the Sugababes were, or were familiar with them, so Heidi is no zeleb.
And at their time they were very current, and their style could still produce hits in today's mainstream music, why wouldn't it? But the sugababes look dead and buried with their chop/change ways and are all over the shop with no original members left.

I think the first few weeks its down to popularity and who people know for their favourite programmes etc . I think the sensible votiing on ability and talent kicks in later on when we get down to the last ones destined for the final.

Can't argue with that! Sadly, it doesn't mean much.

The ad breaks are ridiculous. Much better to record it and watch it later, minus the ads. This show is far too hyped, just like Strictly and the X Factor. And I don't think someone should get kicked off on the very first show. And how long are those pauses becoming before they announce who's staying.
Apart from all that it's an ok show!

yep - you got it " at their time they were current"
its not their time now and hasn't been for a while so they aren't current. I agree they are dead and buried so why is a suprise people didn't vote?
