He was understood fine by viewers and contestants. Should a foreigner not be allowed on our screens then because of their accents which are at times unclear? And you are making a statement which is uncalled for and prejudice.

My 5yr old son has a speech impediment and is laughed at and teased daily by other children of his age already. You expect that of children that age not of adults. You are not stating fact just being judgemental. Glad your so perfect!!!!

I never used to like Louie as found him over the top but he has done a bloody good job tonight and reading what others have said most agree, speech impediment or not.

Well done to him!

Why all the Louie bashing? He has been around in the theatre world for a couple of decades and knows about performance and alot about dance technique and interpretation. Yes, he was a bit of a character on Pineapple but come one people - do you really think anyone can have the successful career he has had with sustaining that ott behaviour at the same time. Jeez! the man is a professional.

I completely agree.

No he doesn`t - much better show without him imo.

Not all viewers found him clear to understand, as can be gleaned by comments on here tonight.
I don't see why you're bringing foreigners into the equation when clarity of speech is the factor here: the German lady on the panel was perfectly clear and erudite, which rules that 'foreign' argument out straight away.
However, I must state that Louie came across in a most constructive manner tonight as a panellist, which was most pleasing.

Well something we agree on at least!
Most on here could understand him fine, and as for the german lady (can't remember her name either) a lot have said the same of her.

Everybody has an oppinion this is what a forum is for but to state he shouldn't be on t.v at all because you and minority of people don't understand him clearly does come across as prejudice.

Be honest.
Would you like a stutterer or Tourettes sufferer to be on TV?

Louie was no more difficult to understand than Katarina with her strong accent and the way she struggled at times to convey what she wanted to say obviously due to English not being her first language

not knocking Katarina as I really liked both her and Louie on the show and think they're great additions

Cant stand him. Made it very clear he did not like Andy A.

I didn't notice his lisp, but I do think he is increasingly becoming a caricature of himself.

Love Louie, he gave constructive critique, and didnt try to steal the show like Jason always tried to do, imo.

I really enjoyed the show with Louis, not Jason who I felt made it all a bit pantomimy?? with his villian act. I like the way Christine is making it clear that Louis is not there for the skating part and think its great that there are 2 skating professionals this year.

Thought Katerina was a breath of fresh air aswell. Looking forward to the rest of the series now.

Of course. Pete Bennett won big brother with tourettes and Gareth Gates done very well out of Pop Idol. Will Young who went on to win has a lisp and is still doing quite well! So obviously in general people do not have a problem with it!

Jonathan Ross has had a great career regardless of his lisp!

Already Louis Spence has spoiled dancing on ice for me.

Oh dear, I'm not keen on Louie. He seems a bit too eager step into Jason's picky gay judge role, and he's a tad too defensive with his "I don't care about the skating, I'm here to judge the dancing" stance. But maybe I'm wrong - it's only week one, after all, and perhaps he's just nervous and feels like he has something to prove because the other two judges are world champion skaters.

I think if Jason returned I wouldn't watch the show at all. I can't stand either him or Louie Spence.

He has been very fair and honest. He isn't being over the top and taking the limelight over the contestants ( which is what I expected) Also he is being very constructive unlike Jason who was just plan nasty at times.

Well done Louie, great job and completely changed my mind about him!”

Agree. I to thought he would try and take over the whole show, but he did'nt. His comments tonight wheter good or bad, were spot on.

I thought the judging panel tonight was vastly improved. Louie gave criticism along with constructive advice - like a breath of fresh air.

Neither seen nor heard of Louis Spence before, but I was impressed. Not only is he articulate and informed but his critiques are constructive - no obsession with turds as was the wont of a late unlamented judge,

I've never had a problem with speech impediments - I prefer Louis' lisp to Jason's crudity.

Hope Louis is here to stay.

Pete Bennett won BB BECAUSE of his tourettes

This years judging panel is a vast improvement on last years IMO. Last year it felt like the judges were just thrown together. Maybe I'm being ignorant here (not knowing an awful lot about her) but in what way was Emma Bunton qualified to be a judge? She's neither skater nor dancer and Jason came across as rude a lot rather than constructive.

This year feels far more professional. Two olympic skaters and a professional dancer. They know what they're talking about and I feel quite a remarkable difference already. I'm looking forward to seeing more of them.

Louis spoiled the show for me.
I dont like his judging style - too OTT.
But at least we are spared Emma Bunton.
Katarina was great.
