Foxsat HDR
Hi Guys
I know this really belongs in the Satellite forum but it'll get more exposure here. Decided to get rid of virgin in the bedroom. I've seen what the Foxsat HDR can do and all the amazing reviews. We have a bog standard SD box we can use temporarily. Couple of questions though. I've seen some firmware for the Foxsat that allows FTP. Does this mean that the foxsat is capable of reading things like dvd and xvid files? I believe they have to be converted first, is this right? Is it easy to update the firmware to allow this to do so? (I'm good at tinkering with things but have never had a foxsat box before) |

Looks to be in the right forum to me?
Do a Search for Raydon for info on his modified firmware package. |

I am currently creating MPEG files from old family videos & converting them to the format used by the Foxsat box using the handy AV2HDR download with FTP Transfer. |

You may find the Freeview version of the Humax HD PVR is more suited to the type of files you want to play 'out of the box', being DNLA compliant.?
A satellite dish install vs a terrestrial UHF aerial install - by a professional - may not be much different in price. {Although if you have satellite already and no UHF aerial then it may not then be a sensible option} |
