New every time. Katarina is great - I love her comments. Louis knows what he's talking about and Robin is Robin!

Much better panel imo.

The panel actually works. Jason, though I miss his nastiness, was too dominant in the old panel.

Does anyone know what Jason's doing now?

Robin's Robin, ok. Love Katrina not keen on Louis

I've been a big fan of Robin and Katarina for years and Louie is surprising me by how much I'm liking him as a judge. They all have a sense of humour, they all know what they're talking about, they all criticise in a positive and constructive manner, they all give praise where it's due - I'd say the new panel is excellent.

My thoughts exactly!
It has a nice balance to it in terms of what is commented on and the amount of constructiveness given is really visible.

I really miss Jason. He was one of the most entertaining parts of the whole show for me.

Robin and Katarina are nice but dull. I was hoping Louis might add a bit of drama this year, but sadly he's been quite subdued so far.

Bring back Jason!!!

I'm really enjoying the new panel although I miss Jason.

Louie and Katarina know what they're talking about and are constructive in their comments.

Biggest plus is going down to three judges, it makes everything much punchier and cuts out all the uninformed twaddle we got from judges like Emma Bunton and the execrable Ruthie Henshall...

New panel brilliant. Louie actually has some very fair criticism. And Katarina is fantastic! She can do serious insightful comments and fun ones too. So glad they added her this year.

This. The balance of skating and performance judgement is right now - even more so, because Louie separates his thoughts on performance 'feel' from performing technique (see e.g. his remarks to Corey), and Katarina does the same regarding her thoughts on performance and skating technique, which is something Robin's always done very effectively.

Previous judges (Messrs Gardiner and Slater, that's YOU) tended to prioritise one element too much above the others and not give the impression they were considering the performance as a package, which is after all a much more realistic reflection of the professional skating world

It's a tremendous improvement.

I'm shocked that the producers have done it. Jason out. No Emma or Emma-like judge. Two very accomplished skaters. Only three judges, so no "casting vote" nonsense like in SCD. And I think Louis has similar strengths to Jason, without the excesses of ego and nastiness.

Definitely this one compared to last year's, although there have been previous panels I have liked.

I've always thought that there should be more skaters than non-skaters, so current panel has the mix as it should be (for me).

I also prefer Louis to Jason in that he really does confine himself to his brief - i.e the dancing & performance side and gives constructive comments. having said that, I never really disliked Jason, although he did go too far sometimes, I do think that on occasion, harshness can be necessary on a judging panel, which I think we will miss this year.

(ETA - maybe not harshness, but maybe really telling it like it is, for the sake of the contestant.)

Although I am enjoying the show and the panel is constructive, I think it is missing last years shock factor such as Jason v Karen, romance between skater and celebrity and Jason's hair transplant. Oh and Karens and Chris romance too.
Maybe the scandal is to come. I do think the panel need to disagree more and challenge each other.

I prefer this one I think adding Louis and Katrina has made the panel better

I am enjoying the new panel & the fact that there is a clear emphasis on skating technique & dance performance. The brief is clear for each judge & they all respect the point of view of the others. Knew I would love Katharina & Robin but pleasantly surprised by Louis & how constructive he is . Yes I miss the drama Jason caused but the series is yet young & there will be a lot more surprises in store in coming weeks esp with surprise eliminations (there are so many good ones there are bound to be a few casualties before their time)

I love the new ice panel - the best panel of judges the show has had so far!

Robin is Robin, and he's always been a great judge.

I like Emma Bunton, but could never understand why she was a judge on DOI. Katarina is a great judge, and she knows what she is talking about when commenting. Also, she comes across as lovely.

I was a bit disappointed when I first heard that Louie was going to be a judge. Like a lot of others, I thought he would be over the top and another version of Jason, but I was totally wrong. He has been a pleasant surprise, so far. His criticism has been properly constructive, and he doesn't comment on the skating ability, so he sticks to what he knows.

Also, I think having a panel of three is better - we get to hear from all the judges. In previous series, the only judge we heard from all the time was Jason (I believe he deliberately gave low marks so that he would get more airtime, but maybe I'm being unfair )

Ruthie Henshall's mum was my Performing Arts teacher in 6th form. It could be a bit of a trial, sometimes.

I think they should have a fourth judge who dosen't dance or skate to give comments like '' I really like your hair'' .

Because that's how a large proportion of the audience at home will think.

New panel.

the last panel I couldnt stand Jason and Emma became an annoyance for me. Jason was just over the top nasty without any charm, and I hated the way the all seemed to wait with baited breathe to see what he had to say. Emma made completely irrelevant comments, somtimes patronising, just found her role pointless.
Not keen on Louis but he is slightly growing on me, I certainly found his judging on the 'entertainment' side of things better than Emmas, he makes some fair points and has the dancing training to back it up, on occasions he makes me laugh a little. The other two I like alot.
