Does anyone happen to know the pairings of the pro skaters in the opening number? I didn't seem to recognise some of them and was wondering if they were part of the reserve professionals.

I was able to make out the following pairings:

Jodeyne & Sean
Alexandra & Lukasz
Maria & Mark
Nina & Matt

But wasn't sure who out of Frankie, Dan, Matt G, Andrei, Brooke, Vicky and Brianne was paired with each other. I'm curious to know who the guy with dark hair was that was partnering Brianne (or at least I think it was her!) and if he is the reserve male pro.

Thanks in advance for any replies

It is no wonder you didn't know who was dancing with who. The lighting and camera work was appalling!

Think the dark haired guy was standing in for Dan as he wasnt able to skate when the opening number would have been recorded on frid night at the dress run.

I wonder if the stand in for Dan was Stuart Widdle, he tweeted to ask if anyone had spotted him?

There is another pro routine on Sunday and I hope this is a regular feature of the show!

I couldn't agree more. I hate that sort of 'strobe' (or whatever it's called) lighting at the best of times, and last Sunday it completely overpowered what was possibly the best opening pro routine of any series. I accept it might have had a totally different effect for the actual audience, but the producers need to consider how it comes over on tv as well.

The SCD director made the same mistake when they went to Wembley (why?)

If the lighting wasn't there, there would be complaints it was dull.
If the producers were making it for the studio audience, then TV would only ever see the backs of the skaters heads.

Sounds like we have a routine with Mark & Maria and Matt & Nina. Looking forward to seeing Mark & Maria. I love Matt & Nina but whilst Maria has always participated in group numbers I don't think she's ever been showcased properly - she never did a routine with Pavel on tour when he was her pro partner either, not sure why.
