Thought i would create an appreciation thread for these 2!

Was really impressed with her skating i honestly didn't expect her to be as good as she was

Looking forward to how she gets on in week 3

Week 1. 13 points

She was great! She did two natural Ina Bauer moves! And she is so self-depreciating which is really nice to see. (Calling herself 150 years old!)

Yeah wasn't expecting here to be much either!
She has that total fish out of water look in the whole thing but she threw herself into it and I love her attitude. Matt is a great pro too. Hope they stick around.

Pleasantly surprised! I was rooting for Matt as I loved his partnership with Danniella but didn't expect Charlene to be that capable.

She must have finished at least a place above Heidi and Andy A in the public vote which is promising. Hopefully she will stick around for a while

I was very surprised that she put in such a good performance, She seems to be a lovely lady and I hope she continues to improve!

A lovely lady and a lovely skater. I felt it was the most sincere performance of the night, and the choice of song was perfect.

If Charlene had done what Louie suggested, I think the emotion would have looked too theatrical and forced. She played it just right.

Charlene was a joy to watch and you can't ask for much more than that!

I saw her in pre-show interviews in the week and thought that she had a great personality- but I really wasn't expecting her to be a great skater.

I was sure she'd be out this week and am thrilled she's safe!

She really surprised me too - good performance for an over 50 and all credit to her for doing some solo skating. She seems lovely & i love Matty, it's great to have him back on the show.

haha yeah they will have to axe the solo skate spot in week 4 as she's done it before the start of her first routine!
Go Charlene!

Pleased that Charlene did so well. Pre-show she was 66/1 to win and most likely to go home after the first show. I don't think she will win becuase others look better but it was a creditable performance.
Now at 40/1. All power to her.

Mark Rhodes is now 66/1 (was 16/1 before he started skating). I don't think he has any chance whatsover (not that I'm pre-judging him!).

Jorgie Porter has now moved to be the bookies favourite ahead of Matthew Wolfenden.

Another Charlene fan here and yes I think she can do really well. I'm watching the umpteenth re-run of Dallas at the moment and although it was a few years ago, Lucy's pretty adept on those roller skates, dressed in her 80's shorts and braces, showing off in front of the guys at the students' roller disco!

I don't think Charlene is there to win it anyway, I think she just wants to have a good time and challenge herself
I'm glad her odds are decreasing though, it's recognition that she surprised a lot of people.

For next time I'd like her to ensure she is getting in and out of lifts more smoothly. She seemed nervous in the shoulder sit.

Charlene's Ina Bauer moves were stunning, as is she.
