Same old Same old............The voters have voted......it happens every year, the worst is kept, I had never heard of Andy until last night, but I had heard of Mark..........

I know they want to start doing eliminations early doors, but I don't think if they'd waited for next week before voting one or even two people off, that Andy would have been one of them.

I never understand the DOI results, Mark was awful and his skate was not memorable or entertaining so what reason did people have to vote for him. I swear people just vote for whoever's bottom of the leaderboard

I think its exactly that, the first few weeks people vote on their favourites however dire they may be then later down the line the sensible votinhg on ability and talent kicks in as it becomes clear who is headed for the finals.

The show is boring when all the contestants are good. It's more interesting to watch someone embark on a journey. Mark might improve and if he doesn't, it will be quite amusing to see him fall arse over tit.

I loved Mark in his Pop Idol days. Anyone remember this?

I love how he just laughs when they are mean to him.

I was hoping Mark would stay, just for the entertainment value, but I was disappointed to see Andy go.

A very under rated singer. When he does get booted off DOI he will easily admit that he was the worst.

I think for me it's just the thought that Andy might not have gone if they'd not done the elimination till after week 2.

What do people actually want to see, fast and exciting routines or bland and slow performances for the remainder of the series?”

Because as with all this phone vote shows its about who you vote for not how good they are!

I agree, I hoped Mark would stay, not just for the comedic value but I like to see if people progress. I could probably predict a winner right now, but that's not what it is about for me, I like to watch the journey. Mark had no skills whatsoever, I want to see if he is capable of improving, if in a couple of weeks it's evident he's not going to improve then fair enough, he'll go.

I knew Heidi was going to be bottom 2 as soon as Charlene skated & performed surprisingly better than her. I did expect mark to join her but i guess he has his fans (I'm a bit out of the CBBC demographic)

If his co-presenter Sam Nixon gets through next week, then their vote is going to be split, it'll be interesting to see who's the most popular of the two.

This is the kind of result you get when kids have phones. the worst skater will get through simply on their fan base during the early rounds. Many parents shaking their heads at the result and yet they are to blame for buying the bloody phones.

It doesn't matter how they skate. Young 'uns will vote for whomever they fancy, and older ones will vote according to which soap the skater is in and whether the character they play is nice or not. It's absolutely ludicrous.

To get the answer to that question you need to ask the people who voted for him! Do they really just like him as a person or maybe they automatically just vote to save whoever is bottom of the leaderboard!!

Well, we know who edged it...what...eight years ago now?

It was Mark then.

Well I didnt know Andy, I think I once saw a bt of Blue Peter when he was on but Mark obviously there's Pop Idol and he's kept a moderate showbiz profile, alongside Sam, eversince. I would expect both of them to still carry some fans from the Pop Idol days and now from childrens presenting. It's a shame we didnt get to see more of Andy, he didnt have a chance to build any fanbase, he should have stayed. Also surprised Mark got more votes than Heidi, shes been in sugababes for 10 years! Sam looks like he could be the better skater of the two so think he might stick about for a while.

They definitely do, along with reacting to what they think are overly harsh comments from judges on shows where there aren't actual scores given.

Regarding Mark, it's worth remembering that his fans aren't just little kids. He and Sam have been presenting kids tv for years, and some of that has been aimed at the teen market, so that alone brings in a few slightly older voters with access to their own mobile phone. They have also been doing presenting slots on This Morning, and Eamonn was describing them as one (two) of theirs, and were getting their backing. There would be quite a few housewives with a soft spot for him too.

It was a shame Andy didn't get the chance to build his fan-base, but I do think that was his problem. People seemed to like him, but didn't have the connection with the audience to make them vote. I liked him, but I didn't vote for him (or anyone else).

Mark is so obviously going to be the underdog this year. I can see the appeal as he has a great personality, although I know him getting through week after week over better skaters will wind me up quickly.
