I just wanted to start a little thread for Rosemary.
Anyone who says its been her dream for years to get onto the show (and got rejected 3 times!!!) has to be worthy of a little support from us DOI faithful.
Plus she's 66 and totally up for it!!! A great fun role model for older people.
She wants to be there so much. Hope she lasts longer than Laila who's got one eye on the exit door which is fair enough. But it means so much more to Rosemary.

Rejected three times and still tried again - now she's been successful. It shows determination and grit. Good luck to her.

I think she will push herself to do her best - I think she'll be a hard worker too - I hope that she has some public support.

Yes and she obviously genuinely loves the show. Her husband said in a recent interview its the happiest he has seen her in 30 years since she started the training.
I just hope she gets through at least one week, ie next week.

Thats why it is rather sad that a contestant who wanted to stay, had a lot of potential had to leave. Why wasn't Laila on tonight, hopefully she would have gone. I don't even know why she on the show

i like Laila but after I saw Rosemary tonight and how excited she is i thought the same thing..................... I hope she stays. I hate it when someone who loves it and is really excited gets knocked out on their first show

Like Angela Rippon and Gemma Bissix. They so wanted to stay

Hope Rosemary is safe

Because of her background etc I can imagine her being quite good - she'll be flexible and have rhythm/ be able to dance etc.

Maybe Bonnie MK II

Hopefully she'll stay - I can see her being high ish on the leaderborad on sunday - I mean Leila is gonna be carcrash, I can imagine Sam not being too good either

I'm so pleased she got through. She is genuinely so pleased to be there, and although a bit tentative, she did a good job this week. I agreed with Louie that she relaxed into the skating after she'd had her little stumble. It was almost as if she'd got the mistake out of the way, so she could stop worrying about it.

I don't know how long she can last, but hopefully a few more weeks. I love how she's been honest about being eager to do the show and auditioning multiple times.

And she is skating with the lovely Mark Hanretty who is a beautiful skater and a really nice guy to boot. Mark is a stickler for good skating skills so no surprise to hear Katarina remark on Rosemary's 'quiet' skates - no toepushing like so many of the celebs do.

Yes I'm thrilled she's through as well. I love how it means so much to her. To be honest though she needs to step it up for next week. With Laila gone, her nearest comparison might be Charlene and she can bring it.
Come on Rosemary, step it up for next week and keep your dream alive!!!

She's been having lessons for two years to reach the standard she is at so I don't think she'll be progressing very far but good on her for taking on a new challenge in her later years.

At 65 she did quite well she was painfully slow!

It would be good to see an older person do well on the show - they just seem to get to a certain level and just stay there. It will be the younger ones doing the daredevil stuff that will steal the show though - which obviously is better to watch than somebody just being pulled round by their partner.

Thinking about it - the only real successful older person has been Bonnie - although saying that she wasn't near Rosemary's/ Dr Hilary's etc age

Loved Rosemary last night....felt she was a goner when she tripped slighty but she pushed through regardless!! Loved her routine and song, but I know she will have to do faster ones to have a slim chance in this competition!! Judges were quite kind to her overall and the GBP voted right (over Corey and Big Mo anyway)!!

The gushing about her from the Judges will get tired very quickly.

Skating lessons?

Yes. Skating lessons. Not just any kind of skating mind you. ICE Skating. Money well spent wouldn't you say so?

She's the best advert going for her diet/exercise regime. Just look at her!! 65 with the body an 18 year old would envy - that is down to dedication and hard work. Always been a lovely lady, hope she does well in this, should be go out it won't be for lack of trying that's for sure.

Maybe his axel is not what it used to be and his toe pick action not up to scratch.

It's outrageous if she's had two years of ice skating lessons.

Do many people know? There's been a big outcry over less in the past.

I thought anyone who watched last night's show would know. That's where I heard it either from her or Jayne or Chris.

If the skating lessons had made her into Jane Torvill then people would care. The fact of the matter is that she was the only one of the 15 celebrities to stumble visibly proving that she is far from competent on the ice. I'm sure she's learnt more since signing up to Dancing On Ice than she did in the two years of lessons anyway. Hopefully she won't be as nervous next time around, I'm glad she made it through
