I was reading an article about the original Live Aid in this weekend's Sunday Express mag which expressed it very well, I think: "Why don't they just do another Live Aid? But that's like asking for another Woodstock. You could recreate the event, but how could you possibly top it? Who would you put on the bill? ..... No, Live Aid was a one-off, and that's how it should remain."
It's one thing to cover the single again 20 years on, but I believe that any possible attempt to recreate Live Aid is doomed to failure, because you just can't recreate something as special as that.

It's that and the quoted indifference to Madonna which makes me doubt the validity of the story. The tabloids seem intent on reporting Live Aid 2 as a definite event, but I've yet to find an official source than confirms this. There are a few denials though.

With all the "iffy"/questionable bands that are singing/attempting to sign on I won't be surprised. For it to reach the top 10, a lot of hormonal teens have to buy it; I doubt anyone that bought the orginal would pay money to hear sugababes or busted sing bono's line.

no matter how tongue in cheek hawkins wails the line im sure it will pale in comparison to the hilarious sonia (i think) backed matt goss travesty of the line in band aid 2 - he thinks hes singing the usual happy pop crap and adds a little vocal riff at the end. "you-oo-oo-oo-oo na-na...yeah" Magic!
