From The People:

Quote:
“MADONNA has been banned from the Band Aid III supergroup by Sir Bob Geldof - because she's American...

...Midge Ure - who is wrote the hit with Geldof - revealed: "As Bob says, at the end of the day she's a Yank. We don't need her..."

...But Ure hopes Madonna will take part in the Live Aid 2 concert planned next year.”

This actually pissed me off; what's sugababes doing in the line up? Band aid 3 is going to be as bad as band aid 2.

Apparently neither Damon Albarn or Noel Gallagher are involved.

What's this about Live Aid 2? I was reading an article about the original Live Aid in this weekend's Sunday Express mag which expressed it very well, I think: "Why don't they just do another Live Aid? But that's like asking for another Woodstock. You could recreate the event, but how could you possibly top it? Who would you put on the bill? ..... No, Live Aid was a one-off, and that's how it should remain."

It's one thing to cover the single again 20 years on, but I believe that any possible attempt to recreate Live Aid is doomed to failure, because you just can't recreate something as special as that.

And it's now being released on November29th, far too early for xmas, let's face it its not gonna be xmas number one, and sounds like the record is gonna be horrendous too... why do they bother?

It's that and the quoted indifference to Madonna which makes me doubt the validity of the story. The tabloids seem intent on reporting Live Aid 2 as a definite event, but I've yet to find an official source than confirms this. There are a few denials though.

Paul McCartney now.
The list would look very promising if Busted didn't make it look less credible. I wan't say that Busted are bad, but they're not the best group in the world.

It would be a bit of an embarrassment if the single failed to make the top 10…

With all the "iffy"/questionable bands that are singing/attempting to sign on I won't be surprised. For it to reach the top 10, a lot of hormonal teens have to buy it; I doubt anyone that bought the orginal would pay money to hear sugababes or busted sing bono's line.

That's no worse than Bananarama being on the original record.

The Darkness might present themselves as a bit of a joke, but they sure won't wanna jam with Busted!

no matter how tongue in cheek hawkins wails the line im sure it will pale in comparison to the hilarious sonia (i think) backed matt goss travesty of the line in band aid 2 - he thinks hes singing the usual happy pop crap and adds a little vocal riff at the end. "you-oo-oo-oo-oo na-na...yeah" Magic!

I'm sure I heard on Sky News the other morning that Victoria Beckham was desperate to get involved, she had even offered to sing backing vocals? Has anyone else heard anything?

The same story seems to be going around about Kate Moss too.

Sounds like they're all as desperate as eachother, doesn't it?

I have it when people pretend to care just to save their own careers.

sounds like they're all as keen as each other to contribute to an indisputably worthwhile cause.

i hate it when people decide to cynically deride everyone for doing so, just to look cool by slagging off artists they don't like.

That's your opinion and I respect that.

Although I'm not too sure whether Victoria Beckham thinks how much help £10,000 could do for Africa before she goes out on her daily shopping spree with her husband's credit card.
