he does that.

Band Aid 20 - Who sings what

Chris Martin (Coldplay) - It's Christmas time, there's no need to be afraid. At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade

Dido - And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy. Throw your arms around the world at Christmas time.

Robbie Williams - But say a prayer, Pray for the other ones. At Christmas time it's hard, but when you're having fun.

Sugababes - There's a world outside your window, and it's a world of dread and fear.

Fran Healy (Travis) - Where the only water flowing

Fran Healy and the Sugababes - Is the bitter sting of tears

Fran Healy and Justin Hawkins (The Darkness) - And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom

Bono - Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you

Will Young and Jamelia - And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time

Ms Dynamite and Beverly Knight - (Oooh) Where nothing ever grows, no rain nor rivers flow

Group of 10 and Joss Stone - Do they know it's Christmas time at all?

Tom Chaplin (Keane) - Here's to you

Justin Hawkins - Raise a glass for everyone

Dizzee Rascal - Spare a thought this yuletide for the deprived, if the table was turned would you survive

Busted - Here's to them

Justin Hawkins - Underneath that burning sun

Dizzee Rascal - You ain't gotta feel guilt just selfless, give a little help to the helpless
Joss Stone and Justin Hawkins - Do they know it's Christmas time at all?

Tom Chaplin - Feed the world

Tom Chaplin and Chris Martin - Feed the world

Tom Chaplin, Chris Martin and Sugababes - Feed the world

Everyone - Feed the world, let them know it's Christmas time again (repeated)

Fran Healy - Wooo

Group of 10 - Feed the world

Everyone - Feed the world (repeated to end)

Joss Stone - Ad-libs over outro

looks like fran healy got into the spirit at the end

I can't really get my head around people saying "I'm not looking forward to this now that I know that X/Y/Z are taking part" or similar. This has the potential to be an absolutely awesome remake, each artist bringing their own unique touch to the record but even if you don't like them, it's going to be *one* line that they do, tops.

Let's be honest, there's no way that in 1984, everyone who bought the original Do They Know It's Christmas? was a fan of all of: U2, Spandau Ballet, Ultravox, Duran Duran, Heaven 17, Bananarama, Status Quo, Culture Club, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Wham, The Beatles, The Police, et al - BUT those artists shaped the record to be the Christmas anthem that it is.

I am majorly looking forward to this record coming out. It has the potential to be awesome and, with some of the talent working on the record, it should definitely turn out that way.

Pete and Geoff on Virgin apparently have 1st play at 0800. I'd guess it'll be on Radio 1 at the same time, but I'm not 100%

I think every radio station in the land is playing it at around 8am.. I know all the emap stations have it, and have heard lots of other local stations saying they have first play on their brekkie shows tommorow am.

Just heard it - and it's as DREADFUL as I thought it was going to be

No bells at the beginning, just Chris bloody Martin, playing the piano - the bells were what made the song so haunting - THEY WERE "THE CLANKING CHIMES OF DOOM"!

Dido was awful - she makes me want to pull my ears off anyway

Sugababes sounded out of tune

Will Young's voice was totally lost

Pains me to say it but Robbie Williams was the strongest

And what the f**k was that "rapping" about??
Absolutely ridiculous in a song like this!

Bob Geldof & Midge Ure should be ashamed of releasing this

I agree with the 'something mssing' comment. The instrumental seemed to overpower the vocals (maybe that's just my stereo), and the opening especially, Dido has a nice voice, but not the strength required for such a powerful song.

Charity or not, this is the worst Christmas single I've ever heard. The rapping.. what the hell?!! And most of the artists involved completely trashed their lines. Oh, and the tune was completely screwed up.

Not good, man, not good at all.

I bought the original - I did my bit then - I'd rather buy Live Aid on DVD than waste my money on this

It sounds like George Martins Air Studios have rubbed off onto the song, at the end it has a feel of Sgt Pepper about it.
All this fuss over who sing "Tonigh thanks god its them instead of you" think Justin should have had his chance on the record 'cos Bono's isnt the best imo.

I think this has to be the BIGGEST piss take in history and I am quite glad to see that a few people agree with me.
No lovely Christmas bells and audible vocals, I half expected someone to stop it half way, claim that was the rough cut and play the real thing.
One of the things that made band aid was the poignant lyrics that "hit home" but, how can the lyrics hit the anything when we can't even hear it?
The fact that it is for charity does not justify the half arse work that they produced and all the bickering and begging Bono to sing his infamous line. The worst part is that after all the bickering, I could barely hear Bono's lines; it was drowned out by the instrumentals
The end sounded like they were trying to out shout each other.

As for the C”rap”…PLEASE don’t get me started.

I am listening to the original right now!

lest i forget, what happened to the nice sing/chant along ending?

You are not wasting your money on the record by buying it, you are contributing toward helping people who cannot, due to many reasons, cannot help themselves.

If it is that bad, and I have not heard it yet, just buy and put it somewhere and do not play it.

This original 1984 record was not a masterpiece - I did not like many of the bands or artists that appeared on it - Wham, Bananarama, Frankie - but I bought the bloody thing because it was a way to contribute toward something that I find abhorrent in this day and age.

And buy the live aid DVD/Video as well.

I am so with you, my ears haven't stoped bleeding and they are going to play it everyday till christmas and release it in America. I'll give them my life savings just to stop this madness and re-release the old one.

Fiona and Eamon on GMTV both said they thought it was great

I think the record shows just how little talent todays pop stars really have. I.e. None.
