Hmmm Will wait a while instead of doing what most Apple folk do in buying straight away. I would like to see how it actually performs in real world situations and not lab tests.

If you have used the Windows 8 developer preview (which was pre-alpha!) you would know it's not windows 7 with just a skin running on the top like media center, that would be a completely inaccurate description. In fact metro is now more than windows than the desktop itself is.

You can't really comment about how it works with touch by using a non-touch PC. The beta will bring many changes and then the release version will be a lot more polished.

Exactly...the code for the desktop isn't even loaded until you click the 'Desktop' tile, so that proves that it isn't just a skin...

I don't like Metro on Windows Phone, but I think it works a whole lot better on computers tbh...Plus the interface is extremely suitable for touch devices...

I do however think that for the average desktop user there is a minimal benefit to upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8....they've hardly changed the desktop mode from Windows 7 at all save for a few enhancements...

Metro is not the same with a mouse and keyboard...they really need to do more with the desktop side of things imo.
