Although JN is a great forum, which provides a fantastic site for all things Joe, I still think this thread has a place. You get a lot of casual readers of these threads. I know I read all the (active) ATs.

The threads are no longer going to be split into parts after 3000 posts though as the DS servers are more stable now (I read that on Alexandra's AT - posted by DS forum support ).

Don't forget to listen to Joe performing two tracks on Terry Wogan this morning and talking about his tour ”

Me too.

I don't post about Joe particularly, but I like to keep up with what he's up to and this is the easiest way. Together with Matt, I think he is one of the nicest XF contestants and I am so pleased that he is still out there, having a career in the industry he loves. I thought it was amazing that he won The Jump, he really is very good at competitions.

Thank you for proving my point

Good Luck to Matt too - I hope he is well on the way to recovery. Joe and Matt appeared to get on very well when they did a gig together - both really talented, nice guys who have managed to overcome a lot of negativity aimed at them - and both tenacious in their own way.

I agree that this thread has its place. Although I don't read other ATs, I can understand why people do.

Wow! Incredible vocals from Joe this morning on Terry Wogan's show - with just a piano accompaniment. His voice is getting richer if anything, if that is even possible!

He sounded incredible didn't he! And a great interview with Terry as well. Joe is so full of good humour and so grounded, he's an absolute delight.

This year my favourite was Luke, and I post in his thread. I read the Nicky thread (I liked him too) and I read the Joe and Rhydian threads to keep up with what they are doing (Rhydian was my favourite in 2007 and Joe after Jamie was eliminated).

I loved Joe on PSOS (it prompted me to buy albums 2, 3 and 4) and enjoyed him on The Jump

Looking forward to album 5

He seems to be. He is spending a lot of time with family and friends (from pre XF days)atm. He appears to be having a good long rest - which he desperately needed. Joe was always more sensible about taking holidays than Matt. Matt literally has not taken more than a few days off since he won and basically exhausted himself, which led to him relying on the wrong methods of coping. Hopefully he's learnt his lesson (a very hard one) and when he is fully back to work, he will be far more sensible about his approach.

That's good to hear

It is a tough industry at times.

Can't help but add my voice to the chorus!

I'm sorry to say that I didn't even know Joe was on The Jump, much less that he won it! Since I saw that on here today, though, I've caught up a bit with his career and watched some of his vids. He just makes me sooooo happy!!! Think I'll book for his tour now. Well done Joe for being so positive and achieving so much

Well I've taken the plunge and sent off to Amazon to buy Wide Awake

I have albums 2, 3 and 4 (and will be buying 5) so thought I'd might as well have the first one too

I'm listening to it as I write this, and I do agree there are too many up tempo tracks, one after another? Why not slow it down a bit and show off the VOICE, which is what Joe is all about

I'm glad Joe has now found his niche. The stuff he is doing now shows off his voice so much more

EDIT: The Climb is on now, perfect song for him

Hi Lindy_Loue Have you ever seen Joe live in concert before? You're in for a treat!

Hi Patti-Ann I always preferred Joe's other albums to Wide Awake I must admit but I have to say I was completely won over when I saw him perform those songs live. They sound brilliant and he has the whole place up dancing. He's so versatile, I love everything he sings live.

That's interesting - some of the songs seem to have a 'digitised' sound added to them (hope that's the right term), which I think spoils it. You won't have that with a live performance, so I can imagine it WILL sound better as you'll just have the singers voice.

I'll have to go onto YouTube and see if I can find Joe in concert singing the tracks from Wide Awake

Thanks for the links Patti-Ann.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Joe and his band include in the set list for the tour. I'm going to the first night and I can't wait!

I watched Joe on the Wright Stuff. He talked about The Jump and his coming tour. Also he loves the winter sports but not the curling (they had a feature on it).
