Thanks Patti-Ann I love him singing this and it's even better live isn't it. That voice ringing round the theatre! It's so wonderful to see people giving standing ovations performance after performance.

I'm hoping so much for a dvd/cd too, Would be such a shame if there wasn't a recording of this fabulous cast. Think I need to see it again.

so, yesterday, I was able to see Joe perform in his home town, and what an incredible show it was! I will write a review and post up links and things. I also saw Joseph in Bromley, and what a show it was! Even with a cold, Joe was just outstanding!!

My review of Joe at the customs house.

So, the big day had finally arrived! Sunday 24th April, 2016. After supporting Joe for 7 years, since the day he first walked onto that X Factor stage, I was finally going to see him perform in his home town of South Shields. I had booked my tickets and hotel around 5 months ago.
I had a taxi drop me off to Kings Cross. I was an hour early for my train! The assistance were brilliant and helped me on board to my seat.
The journey went by quite quickly, I listened to Joe's albums, and some recordings i've got of previous Joe shows.
I met my friend Chelsea at central station and we went and got some food at the local Weatherspoons. There was a bit of a mix up, I asked for a plain cheese burger, and they gave me one full of halapinos! Luckily they switched it round, but I wasn't the only person who had the wrong order given to them.
After lunch, we got on the metro and Chelsea dropped me off at South Shields Metro station.
I was staying in The Mil Dam guest house, which was about 50 yards away from the Customs House, so it was perfect for me.
There was a fellow Joe fan, Shannon who had travelled down from Edinborough and she was staying there as well, so we got talking, and ended up spending most of the day together which was lovely!
The guest house was ok, the staff were friendly and the rooms were nice.
Once we were settled, me, Shannon and Brodie (My Guide Dog) went over to the customs house to get a drink. we saw a few people and sat and chatted for a while, then it was time to go and get ready for the show!

Sorry to have missed you last night Jade - was a packed out audience, sold out show. No idea where he got the energy for such a lively show of his after a 10-show Joseph week (adrenalin probably ) but wow the atmosphere was electric! Had really missed them and can't wait till August for the next set
Was also really lovely to see most of the cast there to support him at his own show. They even joined in with the rest of us waving phone lights in Climb near the end

... and it really IS as good as it looks in that!

I had a VIP ticket and VIP was due to start at 6. We went over and sat with a few fans, Carmen, Anne, and a few others. It was lovely to finally meet Carmen, we'd wanted to meet up for ages! Julia then came over and told us that Joe was still sound checking and that the VIP would be at 6.30 instead. That half an hour seemed to drag by! We went and got in the VIP queue and there were so many people! There must have been about 30 or 40 of us! We went in and sat inside the theatre, me and Shannon were about 6 rows back I think. Joe's mam came round and gave us champaign and goodie bags. Inside them we had a really pretty wine glass which has Joe's autograph on it, a pen, and a poster.
Joe took his time, laughing and chatting with everyone. He came to us and I said hello to him and he took a few pics with me and Brodie.

Then it was time to drop Brodie off. He was being looked after during the show. It was sold out and the seat I had was in the middle of a row, and we couldn't find an isle seat. So, we left Brodie with a member of staff and Shannon helped me find my seat. I was buzzing, I was front row, and the stage was about a metre away from me! I could tell that this was going to be a special show!

So, Joe opened the show with Hollywood, and what a choice to open with! I was up, dancing, singing, and clapping along! He had Matt on the big drums, Ross on keys and a new guy Henry playing double bass. He was really good, but I did miss Alewin! He really is amazing on the guitar!

Joe's humour was amazing, he was just so chatty and giving it that extra 10%
The next song was Smile. Shannon was really happy about this, because she's recently had a tattoo done with lyrics of that song on her arm. She showed it to Joe and he loved it!
This song really worked, Matt sounded great on the drums! It just felt incredible for me, being front row centre, in Joe's home town! Just the reaction, wow!!!
Joe then said how he felt nervous because where he's been being Joseph for weeks, if any mistakes happen, he can kind of hide behind that character, but all eyes are on him tonight on this show.
The next song he sang was Silence is the loudest cry. I don't really listen to this on the album, but live, it was simply stunning!

Up next was a ballad, and this one really made me cry! It was World through your eyes. Joe's voice was just so silky smooth, just so full of passion, emotion, his voice is just so strong, so powerful, and just amazing!
I think I fall in love with his voice a little bit more every time I hear him sing live! Every show is just better than the one before!

The next track was Here's what I believe. This was a brilliant version, Joe's not sang this live for a while, so it was a nice surprise!
Joe then went into the classical crossover Relm and sang the Italian song from Here's what I believe. This was amazing live, I always love it when Joe sings in Italian, the way he rolls his r's!

Joe then introduced the Joseph cast as some of them had came to support him by watching the show. He then explained how the whole Joseph cast have had bugs this week, some worse than others. He said that Lucy had agreed to sing a few songs with him, and the first 1 was Can't help falling in love with you.
I loved this, it really makes me think of my dad, as it's one of his favourite songs!
I loved the way they harmonised together, they just sounded amazing!
The final song before the interval was time to say goodbye, and wow! They just blew the roof off! I got the impression that they had a huge standing ovation at the end of this, they were fantastic!

The interval lasted for around 20 minutes. Joe opened the second half with Wide awake! I can never get enough of this song live! Ross on the piano, Joe's voice, the extended part at the end, just amazing! It just felt so unreal, being sat so close to the stage! Even though I can't see, being sat that close is just incredible!
Joe then went on to talk about Joseph and he said he must sing Any dream will do around 50 times a week! This was his next song and he got all of us to be the choir, which was fun, you can really hear us on my recording that I got!
Up next was my favourite song of the night! A spine tingling, sensational, emotional performance of close every door! Joe being Joe, decided to change it up a bit, and wow did this change work! He made it into a stripped back, live lounge, acoustic version! His voice! Those low notes, that emotion, that power! I don't know if i wanted to cry, hold my breath, just wow!!!

Up next was Jukebox Joe. we had some good songs in here, we had:
Don't stop believing, Luther never too much, Queen I want to break free, Prince purple rain, Joe even had the lyrics on stage because he knew someone would ask him for that song. Beyonce love on top, Mayday, Chandaleer, feeling good, Ain't no sunshine, Valerie, Rule the world, Joe tried to impersonate Garry Barlow which was helarious! Nessun Dorma, When he got asked to sing this, he was like, I want me mam!
Up next was Farenheit and that was when my dictaphone sadly ran out of memory, so I only got up to the end of JukeBox Joe recorded. It was great though, we were all up singing, dancing and just having fun! I'm doing this from memory now, so I think up next was ambitions! I still haven't managed to ask Joe to teach me the dance routine yet and that song has almost been out for 6 years!
After this was the climb! This one really made me emotional as it just bought all the memories back, Joe on X Factor, the fact that I was in his very home town, watching him perform, I just really like hearing him sing that song, and to hear a sold out theatre singing the words back to him as well, was just beautiful! I could tell he was having the time of his life up on stage!
The song that he closed the show with was Somebody to love! This was great, and he was so full of energy!
And that was it, the show was over! Shannon came and got me and we went and got Brodie. We chatted to a few people and then went back to the guest house. I felt so emotional, sad that the show was over, happy that i'd seen Joe live, I just want to see him at the customs house again! I'm looking at this august hopefully! There's no stopping me and Brodie now!
I made it home ok, Chelsea came and picked me up from shields, took me back on the metro to Central and I was eventually home by around half 2 this afternoon.
What a weekend! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

I just feel so proud of myself, 7 years ago, this was something I could have only dreamed of, and now i've done it! I've travelled up to shields, supported Joe in his home town and just had the time of my life! I can't wait to do it all again!
