The kids all adore him too - the looks on their faces and the excitement when he gives them a wave, aww .. so lovely to see

Fabulous week of shows in Northampton - it's just up the road from Milton Keynes so went to a few. Hats off to him and the rest of the cast, even if they're shattered (and by the end of the week, culminating in a triple show Saturday, they must be) they give no sign of it. Boundless energy every show. Once again he blew me away with his stunning, powerful and emotional Close Every Door - worthy of the standing ovation he gets for it. And the brothers' 'One more angel in heaven' routine is hilarious. Ben in particular hams up his part delightfully - every one of the cast is a joy to watch and the time just flies (except for the longest overture ever - but that came in handy when my train from London was badly delayed on Thursday and I thought I'd miss the first half - slightly stressful journey - so I'm not complaining, lol)

They're now Scotland-bound - Glasgow. Still 8 weeks left of this fabulous run:

Joe & Joseph are currently wowing Wolverhampton - so hope you do get a chance to see it Sulla! Just a couple of good reviews ...

http://www.amusings.co.uk/#!JOSEPH-A...f24fd7fcd706ee

Leading the pack is former X Factor champion Joe McElderry, whose casting in the titular role proves savvy for reasons far beyond just the name. With a winning smile and youthful glow, McElderry cuts a far less formulaic and cookie cutter figure as the unfortunate shepherd’s son who goes on to greatness. It’s shrewd and well-judged casting - Joseph always sits awkwardly as some towering, vacuous adonis. Here, McElderry brings a natural charm and boyish innocence to the role and is easy to root for as the put-upon yet optimistic lead. And his voice is simply exquisite - easily one of the strongest Josephs vocally to step into the role, with his blisteringly strong rendition of ‘Close Every Door’ even prompting a pre-interval standing ovation from some members of the audience, and rightfully so.

Talking of wiping away misconceptions, where do you start with Joe McElderry? Firstly, can we take the whole 'X Factor winner' thing and put it in a box in the corner, please? McElderry is a hugely talented, compelling performer with a voice that matched world class theatre performers. His vocals tonight put him, for me, into the same league as Michael Ball and Alfie Boe in Les Miserables. His rendition of 'Close Every Door' received a standing ovation on its own - and for very good reason.

Having sat on Youtube and watched 'the big four' sing that song, I genuinely think his performance is the best version I've ever heard. Each and every person who questioned his ability had their minds blown with one audience member sitting with her mouth wide open in amazement! In equal measure, Joe's final rendition of 'Any Dream Will Do', sung to Jacob at the end of the show was a stunning, poignant piece of theatre which had so many people reaching for a tissue. Whilst 2 million album sales isn't to be sniffed at, McElderry's home should clearly be the theatrical stage.

...as he sailed through the score with ease, hitting all the right notes in what is probably the best rendition of the heart-wrenching ballad Close Every Door to Me I have ever seen (and I've seen a few), while still offering a credible acting performance and delivering his comedy lines with confidence.

His instantly likeable personality fills the theatre and his boy-next-door charm and good looks should see him go far. But don’t be fooled; this guy is not just a pop star made good - he is seriously talented and delivers a performance worthy of the West End
http://www.behindthearras.com/Review...nd-G05-16.html

See it for the first time, and you will want to book a seat the next occasion it arrives in town, and there were joyful scenes in the first night audience as the finale approached and Joseph’s amazing dreamcoat was unfurled.
Heading the cast is another Joe – Joe McElderry – a chart-topper since winning TV’s The X Factor in 2009, and the best man I have seen in the role of Joseph in recent years.
He has a wonderful voice which nearly lifts the roof in Any Dream Will Do,
and he receives outstanding support from Narrator Lucy Kay, a 26-year-old soprano with a crystal clear voice which ensures you hear every word.
http://thegoodreview.co.uk/2016/05/j...hampton-grand/

Joe McElderry is the current re-generation of Joseph and delivers a fine and centred performance and a beltingly breathtaking rendition of “Close Every Door” – quite possibly one of the best I’ve ever heard.
See you on Saturday for our next #JoeIsJoseph fix LL2!

P.S. You can't imagine how long it took to do this post from my phone - nearly as long as the show runs for, lol

Just want to re-quote my favourite from the above:

Proud of him

I'm proud of him too and so impressed. He just gets better and better and it's lovely to see the ear to ear grin as he takes his bow. There stands a happy man.

Yes see you Saturday and can't wait! By the way, very impressed with your posting all the links on your phone! I could barely log in and do this post on my phone lol! Thankyou for doing it! (especially as I was going to do it tonight on the laptop lol! )

Another fabulous review, this time from New Brighton.

http://www.northwestend.co.uk/index....n-new-brighton

'From the moment he turned and flashed his smile he had won the audience over. For such an iconic role, McElderry certainly made him his own. with fantastic acting, great movement and brilliant comedy, topped off with one huge amazing voice. McElderry carried every word of every song perfectly, but when he got to the end of 'Close Every Door' I had the biggest goosebumps and tears in my eyes. The whole audience were stunned'.

Thanks Patti-Ann Can't believe he's 25 now! Where have the years gone, but so thrilled for him that he continues to go from strength to strength.

The Joseph tour is in Weymouth this week and the wonderful reviews continue .

http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/news/145...on/?ref=twtrec

'...X Factor winner Joe McElderry storms into the demanding role of Joseph with energy, panache and an appealing vocal talent that puts him right up there with the greats'.

Just two more weeks left of the tour after this week, Milton Keynes and Southampton

Going to miss this wonderful show a lot.

Me too! Very handsome

Talking of very handsome, he looked gorgeous and sounded wonderful singing with a full orchestra at the Classical Concert on Saturday in Leeds #swoon

Love the varied work he does and that voice is superb whatever he sings.

It's another busy year for him so I hope he manages to get a proper holiday before his Northern Light tour with his band starts. Tour dates on his Official Website.
