Finally managed to catch up with the 2011 review and what a fantastic job YL, hunneyt and all the other contributors are doing (where's the thumbs-up smiley?)

Think you have befuddled yourself somewhat (psst - 2011)

A few quick replies to posts from days ago

Una Furtiva Lagrima - my favourite too - really hope he can record this or include it in live shows one day.

The video of the PopStar to OperaStar Final compilation 3/3 (the one where he jokes about pushing Cheryl off the stage) - at 1:32 that shirt he is wearing - I need a swoon smiley for it )

The Reason 4 - I'm rather partial to a boy band and they really are one of the best to my ears so I'm following them on FB and will definitely buy their album when it comes out. Love Nathan's falsetto. They were totally robbed of a rightful place in 2010 by a group of boys who still don't sing harmonies properly

Thank you for the mention of Joe-Nuts. It is one of my aims to tidy up all the review and media threads so that all that is left is videos/reviews/photos and none of the several gazillion posts saying thank you etc. - not that these aren't appreciated at the time - just for archive purposes and ease of finding things they will have to go Oh and www.joe-nuts.com/forum for anyone who wants to join us there

Nice to see no-one picked up on my deliberate mistake.
I obviously meant 2011.

It's weird in some ways the last year has flown but in Joetime -Lumney seems like ages and ages ago. I guess so much happened and it was such a rollercoaster ride wondering if he had that other deal or what. But good ole Universal knew a good thing when they heard it and well here we are waiting to see what 2012 brings.

He did know.
He also knew I had a new camera PMSL.
So new you hadn't read the bit in the instructions that said you didn't need to keep your finger on the little red button while you were recording

You did make us laugh hun

Waves at Jude and Adeyseye

The other night Matt asked what everyone's best moment was from 2011, and I struggled to even narrow it down to a Top 10 there were so many wow moments.

What's yours?

Good evening Matt - I don't think we've met before

Best bits from 2011.

Well obviously all the shows I got to but the highlight of those was RFH. The entire day from the photoshoot through the astounding performance to hanging around afterwards so long and hearing how pleased the bigwigs were with it and that Sir Tim Rice was talking to Joe too - just seems like fantasy land when I look back on it.

I'm going to choose the first PopStar to OperaStar performance too. I was lucky enough to get to that show and also to the semi-finals and finals, thanks to some very generous friends. Was such a mix of emotions seeing Joe so totally totally beside himself with nerves before that performance and then going on to sing Una Furtiva Lagrima so utterly beautifully, with the sweet sound of his natural voice *not* being swamped by his operatic technique. I palpipti indeed.

And finally, because I'm not greedy and I'm going to narrow it down to three - being present to hear Joe singing Driving Home For Christmas live on Loose Women. We were so so close to him that I could hear his unamplified voice and it was just such a moving few moments - I was spellbound. And when I listened back to it later on the TV it was still a faultless performance.

Oh - and I'll just sneak in the Gay Times photoshoot - can't remember what month that was in but I haven't noticed any links so far - or maybe I skipped past them.

Loving all the Joe loving, on here.

My memorable moment was in the front row at Reading. I was mesmerised when Joe sang Dance with my father, he was so into the song, I thought he was going to cry, there was so much emotion on his face. I keep meaning to see if there's a video.

Hello Bumble, lovely to see you

I've been to have a look for a video of that but can't find one anywhere Reading was a bit of a problem as the security were over- zealous and stopped us videoing

Oooh so jealous of you seeing Joe sing DHFC on Loose Women live

I managed to find and post the front cover of GT400 earlier on Part 9 but I couldn't find the rest of the pics online even that utterly gorgeous one of Joe looking mean and moody - and stubbly - in the hoodie

I'm sure the thread has moved on about 50 pages whilst I've been typing this but here's a few of my highlights of 2011!

I'll never forget being lucky enough to be in the audience for the final of PSTOS. Listening to him sing Nessun Dorma and hearing the audience reponse. Watching the joy on his face singing with Cheryl, Katherine and Rolando, experiencing the tidal wave of screams and cheers when he won (and not just from hunneyt sitting next to me! ) The atmosphere was amazing.

Joe being signed by Universal/Decca and then hearing that glorious voice on 'Classic' and 'Classic Christmas'. Gold/double gold disks all over the place.

The Classic tour. Can't even begin to say how wonderful this was. I urge everyone to try and see Joe live this year if they possibly can. He has the best live voice I have ever heard. The Royal Festival Hall concert was where I finally lost it. I had been nervous for Joe about this one but right from the start the crowd was just going mad for him. The atmosphere was electric and he just went for it. Like Matt said earlier, it was like The Last Night of the Proms! When he sang Nessun Dorma and soared to that top note that finished me and I was trying to hold an open phone for Billie to listen at the same time as cheering, clapping and sobbing!

I'll also never forget the lovely people I've met this year. Any Joe fans who are shy at the thought of coming to a gig on their own, don't be. You'll be welcomed with 'Open Arms'
into the McElderry Massive. (did you like what I did there Aquarius? )

And these are only a few of my highlights!

Aw wonderful

I hope LL2 doesn't mind me saying this, but she said in an email to me, HunneyT and MichelleMK, talking about Classic Tour, something like 'and I got to travel round and spend time with 3 lovely people'

And HunneyT said 'aw bless, you should have introduced them to us!'

Hearing that ovation from more than 500 miles away was one of my highlights (as well as the pic I posted above )
