Which Pay as U go?
Which Pay as U Go network is best deal for the the following usage.
General use about half a dozen short calls, during daytime peak hours each week, none lasting more than about 2 minutes. About half a dozen longer calls of between 5 and 10 minutes a week off peak evening or weekend. When I first had my phone which is on Orange, I was on Just talk and if I got as £50 top up call were half price with off peak only 5p a minute and peak 25p a minute. A £50 card lasted me months! About 18 months ago Just talk was suddenly terminated, even though I had just purchased a £50 top up and I found that my call charges were suddenly doubled when I was automatically transfered to their Choose your own offpeak plan. I have also tried a month or two on their one where it is 35p for the first 3 minutes and then 5p a minute after that at all times but I find that even more expensive for the calls I make. Orange have in effect almost doubled my call charges by changing their packages. I had thought about Virgin - keeping my present number and phone for now, but perhaps updating my phone at a later date. |

Virgin with 60 anyone minutes bundles for £10 per month (this is not a contract but pay as you go) and if you don't use all the minutes in the month they roll over
and if you decide to stop using the bundle then you can cancel it 48 hours before the months up. Out of the bundles standard calls and calls to other Virgin Mobile phones cost 15p/min for first 5 mins then 5p and calls to any UK network cost 35p per minute.Hope this helps. |

You should be able to take your number with you, which ever network you choose.
Your post didn't say whether your calls were to the same numbers; check out Tesco Mobile's tariff. If you wanted a new handset, you could consider the Nokia 3510i, which is £40 at Argos. Unlocking it from Orange would allow you to use it on any network. |
