I hadn't thought of that at all to be honest, but you might have a point. When you think about it, when does Kevin not know a History question....?

I can't see that it would be in their interests to throw a question. Especially when, as stated, they'll come across a lot of the people again on the quiz circuit...
Not suggesting that *is* the case at all by the way, just playing devil's advocate

I liked Nicki (the blind girl) who was on the day before, but I still think Frankie is the one to beat out of the women.

I record this, as I'm working, but it is starting to become really uninteresting. I cannot help but think that, despite seeming apparently clueless when called upon, the egghead would know the answer, if it was a regular show.
I've had enough of it. |

I expect Nicki is very lovely in real life but I found her unremitting chirpiness a bit tiring. So I would be rooting for Frankie. As for todays winner - I wasn't expecting much from her final round, especially given the Art and Literature debacle, but 5? Even given the huge hesitations she was never going to make double figures.
She would have failed to get in the last 4 even if she had won all 3 rounds. ![]() You don't ask him to repeat the question, you say pass. ![]() ![]() Really poor. |

In two recent shows, the winners only had 3 points going into the last round. They would have needed to be particularly good to make the top 4 but having only 3 points in the first place makes it unlikely. Nice to see Chris picked. Unlike some of the others, he seemed pleased.

He may well qualify, but Eggheads should not be about quick fire questions. They should have had 16 contestants, then 8 then 4, then a final. Every time Chris has been picked he has come up trumps |

Sure I recognise the winner today
Not sure where though Glad he got through really did not like the loser much, he just bored the pants with his stories Really seemed a waste of an episode yesterday with the winner just wasting her time in the quick fire round and finishing bottom of pile by a long shot |

I bet Chris would have got the nursery rhyme question, it's exactly the kind of quirky thing he always knows.

Poor timing by me with that post, though I did say "unlikely" rather than impossible, to cover my tracks

A bit of a surprise yesterday with David Edwards getting eliminated, but both Pat and Kevin couldn't help him out when they were called on and unbelievably, a history question that Kevin didn't know!

It is funny how the Chase keeps being namedropped seemingly most episodes and Jeremy Vine you can see just wants to ignore it! He is fine with talking about Who Wants to be a Millionaire though. Perhaps that is because it is no longer broadcast and Judith and Pat of course won it.

Dont know if it has been posted on here yet but Lisa Thiel has announced she is pregnant, so she may take a break from the show for a little bit. Of course it depends on when filming occurs.

The other lady (can't remember her name now ) was I thought actually pretty good.Money's still on Frankie to win for the women though. |

I was staggered that Barry didn't get that right actually... But yes, Chris would have got it for sure. Still find it surprising when people pick Dave instead of Chris - if you have a big sport gap then Dave would be your man to fill it, but overall Chris is far more knowledgeable.

Picking Kevin and/or Pat is becoming a matter of course seemingly after the first three rounds. At least someone picked Lisa today [Tues] I was beginning to feel a little sorry for her as she sat there.

The Accountant
Did anyone notice that question on Mondays episode asking about a Ben Affleck film called The Accountant. Neither the contestant nor the Eggheads got it right. Is it because they would need a Tardis to answer this as the film hasn't been released yet even now.

Dave and Chris would be a counter-balance to the obvious Kevin and Pat combination. They're not as high-brow, perhaps, but they would have plenty covered - Dave for the music and sport, Chris for wars, engines, cartoons etc!
I don't like the way their choose the eggheads. The person who wins the 3rd round gets third choice. When it's a 2-1 result, the winner should have first and third pick, the other 2nd pick. They should choose at the end of the subject rounds. As it stands at the moment, the first round winner gets the best egghead I thought that the chap who won Tuesday was given the easy questions ( and I don't think it matters whether they go first or second ) |

Agreed, though 'old' really means what it says on the tin. Like G. Boycott, anything after c.1959 is of little interest to Chris! On another subject, I don't understand why Jeremy should comment on the likelihood of an answer being correct. Yesterday, he told the contestant that Pat sounded about 80:20 certain before the contestant answered. Why say anything at all, given that he has the answer?
