Agreed, though 'old' really means what it says on the tin. Like G. Boycott, anything after c.1959 is of little interest to Chris! On another subject, [b]I don't understand why Jeremy should comment on the likelihood of an answer being correct. Yesterday, he told the contestant that Pat sounded about 80:20 certain before the contestant answered. Why say anything at all, given that he has the answer?[b/]
Totally agree. They should be able to work it out for themselves. There are some really easy questions and the same person tends to get them.

I honestly believe that each contestant has a prepared set of questions regardless of who goes first.

This could be the chance they need to dump her

Oh please, please, please,I do hope it's true, she has single handedly ruined the show for me. I just cannot watch whenever she's on it.

I know it's a couple of weeks old now, but Nikki (the blind one) in her first round, it seemed like she had an unusual number of points added at the end of the quickfire, and then by the next episode (of women) her total had decreased?

I'm probably making this up or did this happen?

I've lost interest in this programme, one of the people always seems to get easier questions, sadly it's usually the one who would fill a gap they don't currently have in the Eggheads (I don't want this to be true but I can't help thinking it is.)

Was it wrong of me to enjoy that car crash of a last round by DOCTOR Jane ? (she's a DOCTOR you know!).

Actually I wouldn't have minded seeing silly hat woman bumped down but hey ho, one more chance.

I was still trying to work out her choice of eggheads. Chris? Dave?? Lisa??? And then ask Dave about a literature question? Still at least Kevin got to repair to the green room a little earlier.

I was flummoxed by that too. Why wouldn't someone choose Kevin if available, particularly as he'd clarified and explained previous answers when asked. Mind you, wasn't 'Doctor Jane' introduced as a psychologist?

This Doctor Jane really does seem very arrogant to demand Dr Jane on her name badge. Ian Bayley for instance is also a Dr and didnt have Dr Ian on his name badge. I have to say im quite pleased she didnt qualify as Dr Jane would be incredibly irritating on the main program after a couple of episodes.

With the Kevin thing it wouldnt surprise me if the producers of the show asked both contestants not to pick him. It would be done to try and make the other Eggheads seem even in knowledge. Either that or Dr Jane really has something against Kevin. He is an obvious pick.

I don't think Judith's been chosen yet, has she? Or did I miss it?

I loved it when Jeremy teased her to say that the answer was JK Rowling and then told her that she was wrong

Quick fire rounds should have no place in Eggheads. They should have proceeded as in previous contests

Chris was chosen and did not let her down. Dave tried to give an intelligent guess as usual as it was not on sport or TV. I like Dave but he does not have tremendous knowledge

She has been picked

I was completely flummoxed by that as well - why on earth, when Kevin is sitting there, would you pick Dave and then go on to compound your stupidity by picking Lisa as well ffs....

Stupid woman deserved to have a failure in the final round!

I did like Chris merrily giving the right answers when Dave was giving wrong ones too on a couple of occasions, although I do quite like Dave - and on Sport and TV he is pretty strong.

Perhaps not picking Kevin was a cunning psychological experiment to see how he would cope with the humiliation of rejection. Quite brilliant on good old Janey's behalf. She would regard it as being immodest to comment but I have a hunch that she has a Doctorate in Psychology.
Slightly more seriously, maybe she wanted to show us that someone of her ability could do without Kevin and even let her opponent have him.

Today they changed the way the line-up of eggheads was decided. Line-up should have been - From L to R:
Barry, Chris, Judith, Kevin, Dave

Instead Pat was in Chris's place - I wonder why they changed.

But how did that help her ?

I preferred the first 2 to the last 2. Will it be Steve vs Ian and Gary vs Gerard (ie 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd) do you think?

I'm hoping that today's female winner does exceptionally well in the speed round.

Hopefully it will be one-sided enough for her to win all 3 rounds (and get herself 9 points that way) then a half-decent speed-round will seal a place in the top 4

Yeah, I know, it certainly didn't help DOCTOR Jane. I was just mocking the apparent ego. She really may have been showing off, though and wanted to demonstrate that she could do without Kevin.

Man who won yesterday was almost a like for like CJ replacement. Eye rolling and all. Which made it all the more satisfying when he didn't get through!

It's possible, though I'm not too sure.
Either way I still think it'll be Ian Bayley that joins the Eggheads.

Very poor standard so far today, considering how they were both bigged up in the intros.

Yeah, don't think we'll be seeing either of these 2 as an egghead

Why are the Eggs so useless in the last round?

The cynical answer?

To make the contestants look cleverer than they are

What's happened to Chris? By my reckoning he should've been in last 2 episodes but has been replaced by Pat (E19) and Dave (E20)
Hope he's OK.
