9 Eggheads now. Surely there are going to get rid of some of the others.

I think they will rotate so that some eggs can have a few days off!

Hopefully Lisa will be given extended leave. These 2 are really showing her up.

Beth was very irritating with her long winded boring, dull, irritating, smug explanations of the answers. Just answer the question. Shame Nikki went out, she put up a very good fight in the final round.
They are encouraged to be long winded
With the Eggheads just not knowing answers it seems really suspect. The fact that they can answer all questions during the main rounds with ease and then suddenly lose all abilities in the final round isnt right. I suspect they have been told to be evasive in order to one make the contestants look smarter and two to make it a more even contest.
The questions were harder than normal

I disagree. Not a normal competition. I have been quizzing for years. The question master wants one answer only and not a round the houses précis of his/her history of picked up information over the years. . Just shut up and give the answer..
This is an entertainment programme

I think both women are horrendous.I fear one of them will be the winner.
Both better than Lisa, who never had to win anything to get in

It'll be interesting to see how the final is handled, will it be straight general knowledge head to heads for the Male & Females? With 15 minutes of back patting at the end?
The final was very flawed. In theory you could lose each of the two rounds after half a dozen sudden death questions and get no points against the other's 6

Steve's son could be getting that dog!
I have no idea why he just can't get him a dog

An OK win but the questions were easier. She was not the strongest player in the deciding round.

The Eggheads will now be even more difficult to beat.

17 multiplied by 13 was a question given to Gerrard, without it even being against the clock! The contestants on Child Genius would have had a laugh at that. Steve really puts himself through it. He must have been wrecked by the time they finished recording the upcoming series. The 'squad' badly needs a cull; there are fewer at a county cricket match.
I'd like to pitch an idea, Partridge-style, to the BBC: A series to find the weakest two of the existing eggheads. They then cross the floor to join 3 others of their choice to play for a thousand pounds in the first episode of the following series. Of course, I have the odd little detail to iron out but stay tuned!

I suppose that's part of the human condition really. We all have our own annoyances, its just that the Eggheads' little foibles are there for us all to see, five days a week!

Have to say though, that I'm enjoying Eggheads so much more now without Daphne and CJ. Now they were annoying. Surely no new Egg can be that bad.......can they?
No one could be as bad as Daphne!

I find this irritating too, but it's obvious they have been told to do it. You can see some of them really struggling to know what to say.

But she's so sweet.

They've rotated every day ever since Barry joined the original five.

Bit poor that she didn't know what year Winston Churchill was born. I thought that would be bread and butter for a decent quizzer?

It's her personality.

Her logic was badly flawed on that question too. Didn't she say (correctly) that Churchill had served in the Boer war but follow on to give his date of birth as just a few years before the war actually started?

Unless of course she thought he'd joined up as a toddler ☺

No, she said he served in the first world war.

I thought the questions were so hard on Gerard in the last round, it's been the same throughout the series sadly, the questions have seemed quite unbalanced.

I don't think Steve's that good, Gerard had much better knowledge, but let's hope he proves me wrong come Monday.

I really liked Beth and am glad she won but both ladies had very good knowledge.

I class myself as an average quizzer at best, but I know that Churchill was born in 1874 and died in January 1965 at the age of 90.
