Nothing to do with the general knowledge but Laura on the show today is beautiful.
Seconded. Eggheads hotties are VERY rare (at least, whenever I've watched it) but if she's not the hottest contestant they've ever had, I'd be very surprised.

Yes, when she lost to Kevin, the way he was with her was quite amusing. How can any man not be drawn in by her beauty though? I'd find it hard not to flirt a little! She came across as such a nice person as previously mentioned too. Definitely the best looking girl on the show by some distance.

Agreed, she was a stunner. However, this is not a beauty contest, and you have to wonder why the producers accept these student teams who don't seem to know anything about events that happened before 1990.

not really. its a tv show and ultimately the bottom line is its about viewing figures. otherwise you might as well just have ageing pub team after pub team on the show.

So, following that logic, it would be better for the viewing figures if Chelsea, instead of picking Frank Lampard, were to field Christine Bleakley in a blue bikini?

I hate them all apart from lovely Judith! I like her because I feel sorry for her losing the majority of the time and she just seems so nice.

I've read CJ isn't all that nice in real life but then he may have been having a bad day. He comes across as a complete twunt on the show but not as much of a twunt as the crabby Daphne with her stupid patronising shaking of the head when a contestant gets a question wrong. Discard her, BBC!

Surely an early evening light entertainment programme shouldn't make one so angry...
I always thought that Daphne and CJ came across as one! It sometimes seemed like one was the evil love-child of the other! The way they'd both look when someone from the other side got a question wrong - as if someone had farted in their faces!

I love Judith too - she's just so human! And when she gets a question wrong (which she does on more than one occasion) she doesn't act like its the end of the world. She seems very genuine. I actually also like Pat, Barry, Kevin and even Chris (although you could imagine him sending a glass eye to sleep). I just can't stand Daphne and CJ.

not exactly the same logic though is it? the vast majority of people who watch the eggheads (and that includes the "potential audience" ie viewers they might pick up along the way) probably don't mind if the eggheads get the occasional easy ride. that isn't to say they can't get lucky at the end.

to the contrary, most egghead fans probably welcome a pleasant, very pretty girl as a breath of fresh air compared to the average contestant on there.

just because you don't happen to agree with that doesn't put you in the majority. in fact you rather come across as a miserly curmdugeon

How brilliant was Judith a couple of days ago beating a Rocket Scientist in a Science round. Well done Judith.

Just seen Daphne in an old 1980's quiz show on Challenge. So much younger but determined to win. "Going for Gold if anyone's interested

I love this show but I don't really know why.

I have to say though "Tremendous" knowledge Dave is kind of a poor replacement for CJ. Whether it was an act or not CJ was very entertaining and he wasn't a bad quizzer even though he doesn't have as much experience as some of the others. I really like Judith too. She really does struggle with some subjects but it's funny how if anything "upper class" comes up like horse racing in the sports round or something related to the Royal family, she will know the answer.

Tremendous knowledge Dave seems quite poor unfortunately. I can't even tell what his strongest subject is.

Chris really likes Carol Vorderman and was upset when she left.

Tremendous Knowledge Dave is probably the worst name he could have...he's often worse than Judith.

As we're back on repeats from 2008 (I think) perhaps he'll be able to get a bit better for when we next see him.

I hate to be rude, but when are they going to get rid of Daphne? Her constant bodily and facial histrionics when one of her team is going to give an incorrect answer is more than a little annoying! Also her "poor little me" act when she claims not to know the answer to a question she has been asked and, funnily enough, has to "guess" the answer which is invariably correct! "Guesswork?" Who the hell does she think she's kidding? Get rid!! and take Barry with her.

^ I had a Daphne moment when playing along at home to the most recent broadcast of The Chase. Although I cannot remember either the quick-fire question or answer now, I'd thought to myself "No idea...[celebrity name]?", with zero confidence. I was rather impressed with myself when that was read out as the correct answer!
