I thought the questions were so hard on Gerard in the last round, it's been the same throughout the series sadly, the questions have seemed quite unbalanced.
I don't think Steve's that good, Gerard had much better knowledge, but let's hope he proves me wrong come Monday. I really liked Beth and am glad she won but both ladies had very good knowledge. |

Cock up on the question front tonight, "The American actor Clifton James"!!!! M.E.Clifton James was born in Australia but most would describe him as British. Not only impersonated Monty in WW2, but played himself in the film I Was Monty's Double.

Eggheads poor tonight. Dave has lost 3/4 rounds and Chris both of his 2. Impressed with Lisa so far she's won 3/3.

Lisa is arguably the third most knowledgeable egghead,.
Shes definitely not the worst. I'd rank the eggheads in this order, (excluding the new two): 1st Kevin 2nd Pat 3rd LIsa / Barry 4th Dave 5th Chris / Judith Quote:
Judith and Chris also have big weaknesses in Music and Film and TV,
Ist King Kevin 2nd Pat but I have no idea how good he is on Sport 3rd. Barry/Chis 4th The others |

Judith is incredibly intelligent, she perhaps the strongest Egghead on Arts and Books. You dont win Who Wants to Be a Millionaire without being very bright. She fully merits her place on the panel. She is only perceived to be the weakest due to her usually being the one that isnt in the final. That 90% of the time is down to her losing on Sport.
Being a quizzer is not just about having the knowledge - a good part is also down to being intelligent guesses. Chris and Judith don;'t seem great in this respect. MY weakest subject would definitely be science. |

I only have the sound on when the questions start........I mute it when Jeremy is giving his spiel
So the question is are your two brains etc etc.........geez, if I hear that one more time I'll explode Surely someone could write some different lines for him His fake posh voice intensely annoys me too. Alexander Armstrong on Pointless is the same, with regards to spiel. They both sound so insincere. |

It used to be worse when Dermot and Jeremy both hosted, using EXACTLY THE SAME LINES as each other, felt really weird!
If I watch The Simpsons on Channel 4 and quickly switch to Eggheads just as the credits on The Simpsons roll I can almost pinpoint the exact moment where he says 'If this is right the contest is over' every single time

Dave was made to feel pretty bad by Jeremy yesterday. Kevin and Dave differed on an answer. Not surprisingly, I suppose, Kevin was correct and they went with that but JV went on and on about it. Kevin was wrong on the next question (albeit not the eggheads' one) but Jeremy didn't dwell on that. Keepin the rankings of the older lot going:
1 Kevin 2 Pat 3 Barry 4 Chris 5 Dave 6 Judith 7 Liza It's possible Steve might get to mid-table in time but It's looking like Beth will be 9th. Chris has his strengths but you can't write off all cultural references since 1969! To be fair to Judith (and maybe Liza), when she knows an author or book title, it's usually because she has actually read the book. In some cases, I feel an egghead learns titles/authors but would regard reading a book as a waste of time when there are lists to be learned! |

Vine for me is the worst part of the show. Also i wish that Vine wouldnt ask people to sing. It is just so cringy when Lisa/Chris or one of the contestants start singing. Sometimes you can see the Eggheads visibly getting annoyed with Vine. Judith in particular.

![]() I much preferred Dermot Murnaghan to the predictable, boring Jeremy Vine as host. |

Well, the News thing was an afterthought, but "Twelth Night" was given as a possible answer tonight.

Only for this series, I haven't done it in the past.
I'd love for them to release all the past statistics they'd make fascinating reading. |

Would be interesting to see weekly stats as well. Would be interesting to see if their is a pattern regarding the appearances by each Egghead.

Lisa definitely doesn't need to be invited to sing.

Massively disappointed with Kevin there, good quizzers should know their newspaper editors. He led them massively astray. It does seem to be a weakness of the Eggheads.
Tony Gallagher is the Sun, Paul Dacre the Mail and Chris Evans the Telegraph. |

It's turned into the Jeremy Vine show. He cannot keep his mouth shut so it's almost nothing but 30 minutes of the sound of his voice. He's just too full of himself. It's really spoiling my enjoyment. He also says "Yeeees" when the answer to the question is "No".

3 losses in the first 10 episodes of this series for the Eggheads now.
Really surprised the three of them didn't get the Telegraph question; that sort of stuff is usually bread and butter to a quizzer. |

Vine getting really irritating with the same sayings. Unknown Quantity in particular is really irritating. Also calling Barry The Brain and Tremendous Knowledge Dave are increasingly annoying.

I'm now thinking that I preferred Dermot Murnaghan...and that's saying something.
Perhaps Tim Vine can replace brother Jeremy? That would be one in the eye for Jezza. |

It's such a shame that the BBC can't revitalise the show by replacing Vine with someone less horrific. He's well past his sell by date.
It;s so condescending. |

Vine is so terrible and predictable as the host. Someone like Bill Turnbull would be better. Even a Murnaghan return would be better
