I'm going to have to disagree with you there.

With Steve in the final round, the Eggheads haven't lost. They've won 7 times with him.

With Beth in the final round, the Eggheads haven't lost. They've won 5 times with her.

The Eggheads with the worst record in the final round are actually Kevin and Pat with 3 losses each.
Once again today Kevin saved the eggheads In the final round even though they lose the most with him there

Was glad the Eggheads won yesterday - something about the challengers which I just couldn't warm to.

Chris and Sport is becoming a bit of a certainty isn't it sadly - I think sometimes he just switches off ... Reminds me of a team mate years ago when our village entered an Inter Village quiz who was the same - sport was just a complete no-no for her, even if she had a quite guessable question....

It's turned into the Jeremy Vine show. He cannot keep his mouth shut so it's almost nothing but 30 minutes of the sound of his voice. He's just too full of himself. It's really spoiling my enjoyment. He also says "Yeeees" when the answer to the question is "No".
This really annoys me. A contestant gives an answer and he says 'yes' then pauses and says 'no that's not the right answer', it's ridiculous. If I were a contestant I'd be tempted to pull him up on it.

Jeremy Vine's voice is intensely irritating and doesn't seem to be able or want to modulate it at all - it's shout all the time.

I thought Judith did really well there and her questions were much harder than the challenger.

The questions do seem to be quite unbalanced on Eggheads, you either get the easy questions or the hard ones.

I'm so glad someone else has noticed. Vine is simply unbearable. I've given up watching the show now purely because I can't stand the sight or sound of him and have started to record Pointless to watch instead.

I also stopped watching because of Vines irritating voice. That and his constant fawning over the eggheads.

The second set of questions are always harder as it is usually the egghead that has to answer them. That is why going second is always a poor decision made by the challengers

Rare moment for Pat to be knocked out today on Music.

I don't watch it every night but every time I watch it Steve seems to win his round and Beth seems to lose hers

no doubt who the weak link is from the new ones !

His first loss of the series.

I'm really impressed with Steve so far, that's 12 final rounds he's been in now and the Eggheads have won in all of them. Him and Dave performed really well under pressure today.

I couldn't warm to that team and was glad they lost, at the beginning saying they said they weren't very good and then the guy blasting Beth away on History, just annoyed me.

As a special Tuesday treat, here's another individual stats roundup:

Kevin "The Grandmaster" Ashman: W 6 L 1 86%
Pat "The Silent Destroyer" Gibson: W 6 L 1 86%
Steve Cooke: W 11 L 2 85%
Lisa Thiel: W 8 L 2 80%
Barry "The Brain" Simmons: W 9 L 3 75%
Chris "The Locomotive" Hughes: W 5 L 3 63%
Beth Webster: W 7 L 6 54%
Dave "Tremendous Knowledge" Rainford: W 3 L 4 43%
Judith "The Rocket" Keppel: W 3 L 6 33%

Beth's loss today makes her have a 50:50 record this season. She doesnt seem to enjoy being an Egghead that much it seems. She has appeared fairly unhappy most of the time, even when winning.

I know what you mean, she does seem to have an unhappy look on her face , I think it affects her a lot when she loses which gets less as you become a more experienced quizzer I imagine.

Steve looks like he's settled in fine on the other hand.

Steve has been excellent since he came in. He is particularly good at figuring out questions that he doesnt know. His process of elimination is excellent. He doesnt seem to have too many weak spots either. While he is not at Kevin or Pat's standard it could be argued that he is perhaps the best of the rest. But really it is too early to tell.

Vine being irritating again. Pat did a shoulder role in the last episode and today Vine is claiming that it is his trademark. He did it once. Vine just being a pain again. He is the worst thing about the program.

Today's team is possibly one of the worst I've seen, which was amusing in it's own way.

They really were terrible weren't they! Particuarly the first girl, she had no idea about anything. Seemed like she was there to make up the numbers! Mind you though the team certainly was entertaining.

It all reminds me of 'Steve 'Interesting' Davis..........desperately trying to think of anything to make them seem interesting

He is a right pain.........

I loved the way that they all seemed to hone straight in on the right answer and then say 'well, don't think it's ........'.

That and "i'm not quite sure on this one" pretty much every question led to one or the other!

There have been worse but it's not exactly a challenge

Daphne wanted to be known as the best guesser

Lisa is after a reputation as being the best swerver....

Both phonies

She wasn't certain of where Gare du Nord was located. She did eventually assume France, but not Paris. In any event, while London and Paris would clearly have more passengers in total than Milan, it is possible that it could have a station busier than any particular London/Paris one.

Steve's incessant range of facial expressions is funny to watch. His cheesed-off look reminds me of a northern Jack Dee. He's done well so far. Beth, in contrast, looks very nervous at times.
