CJ has left Eggheads completely and the repeats currently being shown are from inbetween his two stints on the show. There will be no new episodes with him in.

I thought that it was on Monday that the new series started, seems strange to begin it on a Wednesday.

Last Wednesday's team (Series 14: Episode 126), 'Lord of the Ping' had a female named Carrie and was a dead ringer for Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy), it was uncanny.

My apologies, it's Tuesday they start. But yes, I do find it odd they don't start on Monday.

They have to match up the prize money from the new episodes with the repeats (I'm assuming).

That's why it's starting on a Tuesday, to create a tiny sense of continuity.

I haven't watched any of the repeats so I may be wrong, but can't wait for the new eps to come back. Stat book at the ready!

Noticed that Eggheads are advertising for teams of 6 to come and take part in the show, so perhaps a bit of a change in format is coming up.

By the sounds of things they have wrapped filming for a while.

Sounds slightly like a departure but i would think that it is down to the end of filming for a while. Or is that it for Dave on Eggheads?

As far as I know they've always asked for six players. One is a reserve.

They've alway asked for teams of 6, I think in case one of them gets ill.

I tweeted Rob Dean to ask if Dave was leaving and he tweeted back: "nope." So that's good news!

Wasnt aware of the application process so thanks for that.

Good to hear Dave is sticking with the show. Seems like they may be on quite a long production break.

They're starting filming for series 19 in January so not too long!

So there should be £10,000 to compete for in tomorrows show.

Came as a bit of a shock tonight when they asked a question about January 2016.....I didn't know the new ones were starting tonight

Neither of the two new Eggheads were there........

Because it wasn't their turn on the rotation.

Good team tonight, knew their stuff but got a really hard first question in the final round which was unfortunate. The History man was very impressive, knew more than Dave (granted it is his weaker subject)

Difficult questions for the team tonight but they really should have known that Norfolk is famously flat.

The quizzing show on BBC Four last night was brilliant. Thanks for the recommendation swingaleg. Had no idea it was even happening.

yes.......I watched it this afternoon on Catch Up

It was interesting......especially seeing 'young' Kevin !

I haven't watched Mastermind for decades but I still remember Fred Housego.......I think the programme was right to say he was the first quizzer to attain mass celebrity.

Thanks for the roundup clever, I missed most of today's but caught the end, looked like an annoying team from what I could tell.

Surprisingly, that was Judith's first sport of the series. She has a 100% record so far!
