Another Murnaghan episode tonight. I assume the current series has run out and it's repeats all the way until the next one.
[/b] It happens all the time when there's a repeat of an old edition. The running total on the repeats always follows on from the newest series ended. And rhe eggheads lose the last show of a set of repeats before they come back live with £1,000 in the pot. So a pot builds up to say £10,000. they switch to repeats starting at £11,000, then come back with new programmes starting at £1,000. What about the pot that built up prior to repeats? |

Rest Ice Compression and Elevation After the question was answered Jeremy asked the Eggs what it stood for and Daphne said Rest Ice Compression and Excercise No Jeremy said its elevation . Daphne looked peed off she was wrong and said with a toss " Oh whatever "" She hates to be caught out . |

I couldn't believe that random but correct answer of 'Red Hot Chilli Peppers', after all the blathering about 'oh, it sounds like a duo, I don't know any American duos'.

Challengers selecting Kevin to play Geography, History, Politics or Arts and Books are on a suicide mission.

A Jeremy Vine repeat from 2009 today. I think one of the female challengers thought she was at a football match cheering. It was great fun though.
I'm wondering now if they'll pad out the next few weeks with more repeats until it's time to cover the festive season with celebrity editions. They may then continue the new editions of series 15 some time in the new year. |

Mind you, I was tempted to whoop and holler when the Eggheads won ... but I restrained myself!

Personally, I'd describe it as irritating than "great fun"! I've no problem with a bit of enthusiasm and support, but she was like a 6-year old at a pantomime!
![]() 6 y.o. at a pantomime was putting it mildly, had I been on her team I'd have had a quiet word with her. |

She was a "Woo girl". Extremely annoying.
At the moment, repeats seem to be all over the place with Jeremy one night and Dermot the next. |

Another repeat from Jeremy Vine's 2009 run tonight.
A rather charming team of challengers. Three fairly senior looking ladies from their local mastermind club, with two 20 something lads picked specially for the sport and tv/fims rounds. The questions I thought, were shockingly easy throughout - all familiar and guessable subjects and no ridiculously obscure aspects. Good ending. Challengers won after a second sudden death question. 2 challengers v. 4 eggheads. £6000 prize. Eggheads didn't know the name of the game played up north using a disk with a 4" hole in it thrown over a pin. (Answer = Quoits) |

Well I never. Five Challengers to one egghead in the final of tonight's repeated episode from 2009.
The Challenger's, a team of middle aged commercial cartoonists, then beat Kevin after the final round went to a second sudden death question. Amazing. They take home £8000. This was only the sixth time that four eggheads have been knocked out on the way to a final round. It was also the most comprehensive defeat ever inflicted on the eggheads as the challengers won every time a round went to sudden death. That was in 2009. I don't think we'll ever see anything like that now. |

My loathing for Jeremy Vine really does know no bounds. He's so smarmy and oily, he makes the show almost unwatchable.

I hate it when the Eggheads dominate (Winning 3 or 4 head to heads) then the challengers fluke the win with easy questions while the Eggheads get questions that are nearly impossible to answer. That happened the other day.

Who is this Lisa Thiel they've got replace Daphne? Has she been on any other quiz shows? How did she perform?
I hope she's not a massive weak link in the Egghead's team, beating the Eggheads should be a challenge. They've got too many weak members as it is in my opinion. |

I was surprised no mention was made during yesterday's programme that it was Daphne's last show. I thought they'd at least say goodbye or something.
And then today, apparently it's CJ's return after 2 years away, but again, no mention of it (unless I missed a bit). |
