Kindle app - strange behaviour

I asked this originally in the Mobile Phone forum, since it happened on my HTC Wildfire, but it might have been seen on tablets as well and I might get a better response here.

I was reading a book on my phone while waiting for someone in a hospital (I have several devices as well as my Kindle hooked up to my account which all sync together), when it suddenly switched from portrait to landscape mode and stayed there whichever way I held the phone. A small padlock appeared in the bottom right corner, but nothing happened if I clicked it. There was also nothing relevant in the Menu.

It's now permanently locked in landscape - any ideas?

Are you sure you're clicking the padlock properly (yeah I know that sounds daft!)?

That's the only thing that locks the screen orientation on Android devices (as far as I know), so it is also the only thing that unlocks it.

I just tried it on my device and it locks and unlocks as it should so unless your click is not registering properly I'm stumped.

Ha! Just tried it again, tapped the padlock and it changed to an unlocked padlock. Now working as expected!

Thanks.
