I have no idea, where this will go
because traffic here, is just so slow
not to heavy ,lets keep it light
just for fun ,and no more fight
Im no poet or Pam Ayres
Male in fact with chin hairs

Lizards abound, in nearby posts
not here to upset, our hospitable hosts
keen on strictly and, our Digital spy
but not to serious, so can you cry

if I write much more You probably will
so Im gona stop now before your ill
What hapens next its up to you
Just want a change from stodgy stew

If this dont work im off the boards
I might try the U N peace accords
come back the regulars with some sense
because this year its just to intense

I have tried once or twice to entice you back
The sane & regular tribes back on this track
My plea to them all just has not been heard
Stony silence it seems been given the bird

Perhaps the answer I think is to hibernate
Do other things and not rise to the bait
The circular threads and dogmatic views
Just too much effort to tame the shrews

Back to real life not pretending I can write
There’s more to this life than fight the good fight
The strictly dance boards have lost their sheen
Thanks to the cranks Ill no longer be seen

You can try to hard to muster the great and the good
But now its gone downhill this fine neighbourhood
I am not the Janitor, custodian, or the creator, or even God
I miss the creative & the witty, now left with the odd evil sod

Time to move on CBB & DOI are just not for me
There just HUGE advert feasts and not on the BBC
So like a famous Arnie once said Ill be back
Maybe Ill be lurking for now its all I can hack

That darn cat was very curious but not for a good while
Its time for a break even that cat has lost some style
Those cats still posting need to be clear what its all for
To be of interest needs a new thing to really explore

you can't force it LeftFeet!

is always quiet at times - has been this way the last 6 or 7 years whilst I've been posting.

Few reasons though, why us regulars have stopped posting quite so much on here:

a) Twitter - lots of us migrated over there because these boards were getting increasing numbers of posts from celeb fan groups rather than dancing (and they have a right to post, not saying that!) but just that the "old guard" liked discussion about dancing.

b) In the last few years, the boards have changed from friendly discussion and well meaning banter to aggressive and insulting posting. Is not what I particularly want and its changed so much for me so I now stick to Twitter and FB and its nicer on there.

c) The show itself has changed from being a show where we had proper dance interpretation by the pros for each dance, and proper teaching of the dances, to now, where it is more of an entertainment thing and the dance interpretations are more showy.

Show moved on, not to the taste of some who prefer the old way. Is no criticism but just not what I like, and although I would not speak for anyone, that is what my friends who used to post on here along with me say their reasons are for not posting, along with the aggressiveness and childishness on the boards now.

So.....is why it's quieter than it used to be!

Oh dear - in my mind I wasn’t trying to force it- if it sounded like that - that wasn’t my intention, sorry

I guess I will think twice in future before trying to rhyme

I would like to think I was trying to encourage the class acts back to the board because it seemed to me the lunatics had escaped and found refuge on the boards

The second reason for me doing this was I felt the jury was out about my reasons for posting and I too had became sort of irritating, so I tried two or three new threads to encourage the quality back and to try not be irritating

I am grateful for your response and the points you outline make perfect sense, I sort of feel I had made similar conclusions whilst writing that awful prose, and indeed it is time to lurk.

There are (I have just noticed) however some rather curious but friendly. fly’s in the ointment that don’t seem to want to go away that I may have to consider elsewhere
