Hello I've decided to create a thread for my own fantasy EastEnders episodes starting from the July 2012

Monday 2nd July 2012

Tanya receives news from the hospital that her cancer treatment has worked and she is given the all-clear.
Later, at the celebration party in the Vic, Lauren attempts to smuggle some alcohol out of the room but Abi catches her red-handed and delivers her some home truths.
Bianca is pleasantly surprised when she discovers a box belonging to Pat with old photos in it and she happily reminisces about old times. However, when Tiffany, Liam and Morgan find the box later on, they begin to question Bianca about their family, in particular, their uncle Joe and aunt Karen, which challenges Bianca.
Abi's words hit home with Lauren and she breaks down in front of everyone in the Vic.

The BBC have confirmed that David Wicks, played by Michael French and Joe Wicks, played by Paul Nicholls, are to permanently return to EastEnders as two of the show's most popular nineties' characters.

Upon his return, Nicholls commented:

"I'm really excited to be returning to EastEnders after all these years. I'm looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and to getting my old accent up to scratch."

French also commented:

"I really enjoyed the stint I did back in December/January and I realised that I definitely wanted to return to EastEnders, even if that meant leaving Casualty. I'm looking forward to seeing Paul [Nicholls] again and to putting on those clicky shoes once more!"

During their original 1996 stints in EastEnders, French's character David Wicks had several affairs, found out that Bianca Jackson was his daughter and tried to control his son Joe's illness.
Nicholls' character, Joe Wicks was diagnosed with schizophrenia, cheated on his girlfriend with his second cousin-once-removed and famously covered his bedroom with alien-related newspaper cuttings and tin foil.

Michael French left Casualty in May.

As Tanya and Max try to calm Lauren down, Cora has had enough and decides to go home. However, she decides to take a detour into Lauren's room and is shocked at what she discovers.
Meanwhile, Alfie and Kat decide that living in and running the Vic is too stressful and is bad for Tommy's upbringing.
And the commotion in the Vic is too much for Jean and she runs out into the dark square alone.

(The next morning)

Max decides that Lauren needs help from a doctor after the previous night's events, however Tanya is against the idea as the hospital still scares her.
The Butcher kids ask Ricky why Bianca is so reluctant to tell them about Joe and Karen. Ricky tells them 'it's complicated' and tells them not to worry about it. However, when Tiffany and Morgan are asleep he tells Liam that Joe is 'mad' and Karen has been dead for the last seventeen years. But what Ricky doesn't realise is that Tiffany is listening from behind the door...
Kat and Alfie tell Phil that they have decided they want to move out of the Vic. Therefore Phil puts up an advert in the Vic to let people know that it's vacant.

Cora and Tanya have a heart-to-heart and Tanya tells her the real reason why she doesn't want to take Lauren to hospital so Cora shows her Lauren's stock of alcohol and Tanya realises just how serious Lauren's situation is.
Tiffany asks Bianca why Ricky told Liam that uncle Joe is 'mad' and Bianca immediately goes to find Ricky and tells him off for saying that Joe is 'mad' and for confusing the kids.
Meanwhile, Kim catches Ray's eye and Ray decides to ask Kim if she'd like to go out sometime.
Tanya, Max and Lauren go to hospital and the doctor suggests that Lauren should try a short period in rehabilitation and Max and Tanya decide it's probably for the best.

Cora decides she's had enough of working at the charity shop and tells Phil that she's interested in moving into the Vic.

New family the Fergusons arrive in Albert Square made up of maternal grandparents Colin (76) and Lily (73), parents Tom (46) and Joanna (44) and their children, twins Matt and Sam (both 15) and Jackie (11). They have come from Stockport in Manchester they move into the Slater's old house now that Anthony and Tyler left the square back in June.

Cora tells Tanya and Max that she thinks it's a good idea to move into the Vic and get away from their current house as it holds many bad memories and it could help Lauren when she returns. However Tanya thinks it's a bad idea because of all the alcohol in the Vic but Max likes the idea of living in the Vic as it would give him a sense of authority over Derek and he convinces Tanya that it's a good idea.

As the Fergusons settle into Albert Square, Matt decides to see if he can get served in the Vic and he almost does until Sam, the more sensible of the two, tells Kat that they're only 15 and she's shocked as Matt acts old for his age.
Phil tells Kat and Alfie that the Brannings are moving into the Vic and that they need to move out by next week.
Phil shows Cora and the Brannings around the Vic and gives Cora, Tanya and Max a chance to work in the Vic for a day for experience. Cora seizes the opportunity to flirt with Patrick while he's sitting at the bar.
Meanwhile, Tiffany is pestering Liam about asking Ricky and Bianca about Joe and also how Karen died as she says that they will only tell Liam because they think she's too young to understand. However, Liam knows his parents won't give him answers to he finds David's number in Carol's address book and dials the number into the phone and it rings on... just as Liam's about to put it down, Liam gets a reply and Liam says "Grandad?"...

David asks Liam why he's ringing (the camera is switching between Liam and David who's currently in an un-known location).
Liam replies that Tiffany and Morgan have been pestering Ricky and Bianca about uncle Joe and aunty Karen and David tells Liam that his parents wouldn't want him to know and Liam says that that's exactly why he called and he wants to know why they can't see their uncle. David says that it's not that seeing Joe is 'dangerous' but that it's difficult to explain his condition and you've got to be careful around him, and even though he's much better than he was, he can still act very strange and Tiffany and Morgan wouldn't understand. Then David switches the subject and asks about Carol and Liam asks why he's bothering asking because he obviously doesn't truly care about her if he left her like that. David says that he's lonely and that he misses everyone and that he's never been a good father but he wants to try and be a good grandfather and he's wondering whether the Butchers could forgive him and come and visit him in Manchester. Liam says he doesn't know and he asks what David is doing in Manchester. David says that he moved to Manchester so he could be closer to Joe but he hasn't plucked up the courage to visit him yet as he's scared that he'll reject him. Liam says the kids will only want to see him if they can see Joe too so they end the conversation with David looking frustrated.
Matt and Sam decide to explore Walford but their sister Jackie wants to go with them and Matt is embarrased that she will 'cramp' their style. However Sam is nice to Jackie and allows her to come. During their walk, Matt sees Abi and introduces himself, however Abi seems more interested in Sam.
Phil lets Cora have another day to experience working behind the bar in the Vic and she continues to flirt with Patrick just as Denise walks in and mocks the two of them.
Liam asks Bianca if they could go to visit Manchester. Biamca asks why and Liam says that he just misses it and he liked living there and it would be nice to visit there. Bianca says she can't afford to do that and there's no point. Liam says "What if I were to say that grandad's invited us?"
Bianca is shocked and confused.

(Continued from the previous episode)

Bianca is angry with Liam for getting in touch with David as Bianca secretly does want to see David but she knows it will annoy Carol and now Liam has complicated things. Liam tries to convince her that one trip to Manchester won't hurt, especially if it's to see Joe as well.
Bianca is now very confused as she does want her kids to meet their uncle but she's not sure how he is and she doesn't want the kids to be scared of him if he's still acting strangely.
Joanna and Tom Ferguson decide to visit their neighbours (Dot, Rose and Fatboy). Dot is nice to them and invites them in for a cup of tea and asks about their family and where they're from. Tom says they're from Manchester and they've moved down to Walford because Matt had been in some trouble with the police because his friends led him astray so they wanted a fresh start away from his so-called 'friends'. Dot asks what sort of 'trouble'? Joanna looks at Tom nervously and Tom replies "Oh nothing too bad, just a bit of graffiti and petty crimes like that, really."
Joanna looks relieved.
It's Syed's birthday and he's disappointed that he hasn't received a card from Christian. Syed decides to go and see Christian and tell him he love him but Amira gets in the way and tells Christian that she slept with Syed last night. Christian is furious and punches Syed in the face before he can explain. Syed tries to tell him that what Amira says isn't true but he won't listen. Syed decides he's had enough of Amira.
After Liam's gone up to bed, Bianca calls the directory number and asks for 'Joe Wicks, Bolton' and she's given a number.

(The next day)

It's the morning and before anyone comes downstairs, Bianca is about to ring Joe but she is disturbed by Morgan so she quickly stuffs the piece of paper with Joe's number on it into the address book and makes Morgan some breakfast.
Kat and Alfie are moving out of the Vic today and the Brannings are moving in. Cora is delighted when she sees that her name is already above the door. As Max and Tanya move the last of their belongings out of their house, Derek walks past and tries to put them off moving to the Vic by reminding them of all the people who have died there - Den Watts, Archie Mitchell and of course, Bradley. This hits a nerve with Max and he tries to hit Derek but Derek dodges and walks off smirking and laughing.
Syed tells Amira that she has to leave and that she's no longer welcome in his flat. Amira tries to stop him from kicking her out and they have a huge argument where Amira admits that she still loves him and Syed replies "Well I don't love you!"
Amira says "Fine, then, c'mon Yasmin, we're leaving."
Syed tells Amira that he'll fight for custody of Yasmin as she walks out the door.
The Fergusons are visited by the Police who are checking up on Matt. They remind the Fergusons that if Matt plays up again then he'll be going back to the detention centre.
Dot sees the police leave and nosily tries to ask them why they're here but they tell her that it's private. Dot looks annoyed and is determined to find out the Ferguson's secret.
Ricky needs to get in touch with a client so he goes to find their number in the address book and he finds the note with Joe's number on it. Then Bianca walks in and he asks her what's going on? She tries to explain that Liam got in touch with David and David wants them to visit him in Manchester so that they can see Joe as they are so desperate to meet him. Ricky is angry and asks Bianca if that's what she wants and she admits that she misses David and Joe. Ricky is frustrated.

(The next day)

It's the Branning's first day working and living in the Vic and Tanya finds it gives her a new lease of life and she decides to sell the salon to Syed and work full-time at the Vic.
As Abi makes her way to school, she sees Sam and asks him why he's not at school and he tells her he's going to start in September as there's no point starting the day before school finishes for the summer. Jay sees them talking and is annoyed as it looks like they're flirting.
Ricky and Carol are the only ones at home as Bianca is at work and Ricky and Carol have half-days today. They talk about Pat and the conversation soon switches to David and Ricky lets slip about the whole 'whether to visit David and Joe' situation and Carol is furious that they haven't told her about it.
Syed calls his solicitor about gaining custody of Yasmin.
Ian decides to take Mandy out for the day to London but Lucy wants to come too as her college broke up a couple of days ago. Ian says no initially as he wants Lucy to pick Bobby up from school but he gives in and arranges for Bobby to go home with a friend. During their shopping trip, Lucy tries to garner Ian's attention by asking him about the sort of things Cindy used to buy, which annoys Mandy.
Whitney arrives home to find Ricky, Carol and Bianca arguing about David and Joe. Whitney asks why it's such a problem as they are family after all. Bianca explains to Whitney that Joe has schizophrenia and she doesn't know what he's like these days. Whitney is surprised.
Kim and Ray continue to flirt in the Vic but Denise is disapproving of their 'relationship' as she doesn't want Kim to get tied up with a man who has a child as it can get very complicated, however Kim doesn't seem to care.
The Butchers decide that the only way to find out how Joe is is to ask him. Carol is reluctant but agrees. Bianca dials Joe's number but it turns out that the number doesn't exist anymore. Therefore they have to ring David...

Really like this - and liking the focus on the Wicks/Butchers; harks back to the 90s when they were the central family in EastEnders. Could you take a look at my effort, under the name, "Fantasy EastEnders" please?

(Continued from previous episode)

As Bianca dials David's number, there is a sense of trepidation amongst Ricky, Whitney and especially Carol. Finally, David picks up:

David: Hello?
Bianca: David?
D: Bianca? Is that you?
B: Er... yeah.
D: Did, um, did Liam tell you about our conversation?
B: Yeah, yeah he did.
D: Listen, Bianca, I'm so sorry for what I did, it's just, speaking to you, made me realise, I can't give Carol what she needs. So I want to make it up to you by inviting you to mine, as it's the summer and I'm guessing the kids are off school?
B: Er, yeah they are. You know, if you'd explained to mum why you had to go then things would have been a lot easier.
D: I know, darling, it's just that I can't seem to get things right. Not with you, not with mum and certainly not with Joe. Lorraine told me that Joe was going through a rough patch and so I decided that he needed me more than Carol. I'm sorry, B.
B: Well, actually that's what I was ringing about. The kids want to er... meet him and I was wondering if that was a sensible idea.
D: Well to be honest, you're asking the wrong person.
B: What? Do you mean you still haven't gone to see him?
D: Well, no. I couldn't bring myself to face him, not after all these years and I was thinking that It would be easier if I saw him with you and Ricky and the kids ... and Carol.
B: Oh so that's why you want to see us, not to get to know your grandkids but to make it easier to meet up with the schizophrenic son you haven't seen in 16 years? God, David, you really are a coward.
D: Bianca! Please! I could speak to Joe and Lorraine and see whether it's alright and then the kids could finally meet their 'uncle Joe'. You know they'd love that, Bianca, and anything to keep Joe busy is good, I guess.
B: (After a long pause) Oh, alright! Fine. Let me know once you've spoken to him.

Bianca puts the phone down.

Bianca briefly explains the situation to the Butchers.

Ian, Mandy and Lucy return from their shopping trip. After Ian's gone to collect Bobby from his friend's house, Mandy asks Lucy why she's trying to annoy her. Lucy acts as if she doesn't know what she's talking about. Mandy tells her that she knows what she's playing at, and that talking about Cindy isn't going to make her paranoid. She reminds Lucy that if Cindy was still alive, Ian wouldn't love her. She cheated on him twice and one of those times being with his brother. She took Peter and Steven and tried to kill him. Reminding Ian of Cindy isn't going to make him fall out of love with me (Mandy) and it certainly isn't going to get on her nerves. Lucy gets annoyed and goes upstairs where she gets out a picture of Cindy and begins to cry!
Tanya visits Syed to ask him whether he'd like to buy the salon. Syed agrees as he's going to have to have a good-earning job/business if he wants to have any chance of winning custody of Yasmin.
Denise tells Patrick that she's jealous that Kim is in a relationship with a nice man and Denise admits that she wishes she had a nice man to look after her and she misses Kevin. Patrick says "I'll look after you, Denise."
Denise chuckles and smiles and they hug.
The Butcher's phone rings and Bianca goes to pick it up. It's David to say that they can come and visit next week. Bianca looks surprised but she's secretly excited and she accepts his offer.

As the Butchers get ready to go up north, Carol is unsure of whether she should go or not. Bianca convinces her that the kids will want her to be there and they'll know that something is wrong if Carol doesn't come and she doesn't want the kids to hold a grudge against David as they've only known each other for five minutes.
Whitney is slightly nervous about leaving as she's worried that she'll feel left out because she's not related to David or Joe but Ricky reminds her that he isn't either and that they're both in the same boat. However Whitney says that it's fine for him as he's met Joe and he used to live and work with David. Tiffany comes in and tells her she'll make sure that she doesn't feel left out. Whitney (joking and being sarcastic) says "Thanks, Tiff, that's really reassuring!" and Tiffany looks confused as to whether she was joking or being serious.
So, the Butchers, Carol and Whitney all leave for Manchester in theirs and Whitney's cars, where they'll meet up with David and then go on to Bolton with him.
They stop at a service station for lunch and Morgan asks Bianca if she has a picture of Joe. She shows the kids a picture but she reminds them that it's showing Joe when he was about 16 and he's almost 32 now as his birthday is in August. Whitney looks over at the picture too and she seems to be quite interested in the look of him and she smiles to herself.
The Butchers arrive in Manchester (Deansgate to be precise) and Bianca checks David's address and his flat is number 9b of the block of flats that they're parked up next to. They all get into a lift and go up to the ninth floor and ring on the doorbell of 9b. David opens the door and smiles and welcomes them in but doesn't look at Carol. He makes everyone a drink and puts out some biscuits. The kids begin to ask him questions:

Liam: Grandad?
David: Yes?
L: What's uncle Joe like?
D: Erm, well, what you've got to understand is that Joe has an illness which makes him paranoid and he thinks that things are out to get him. It's all very complicated but you'll get used to it.
L: What illness is it?
D: Er, schizophrenia. Paranoid schizophrenia to be precise, but I don't think it's very wise to talk about this in front of your siblings, Liam, might give them nightmares, you know.
Tiff: No it won't!
D: Well, Bianca, are you alright with this?
B: Well they'll probably realise something's up when they see him so, yeah, go ahead.
D: Right okay then. But anyway he should be alright, as long as he's taking his pills and Lorraine said he was so it should be alright.
Morgan: Why is he so weird then?
D: Well he's not weird, it's just that his brain's a bit different to yours.
M: But why?
D: Well, you know that his sister, Karen, died about 17 years ago?
M: Er...
D: Well anyway, she did and she was 13 at the time and Joe was 15. She was sitting in the back seat of their car and a vehicle drove into the back. And she died (David looks slightly upset). But anyway, Joe had been sitting in the back but he was annoyed because he felt he should have been in the front because he was older and so him and Karen swapped seats. And that made Joe feel guilty that she had died because he felt that it was his fault.
T: Why did that make him go strange though?
D: Well, his mind er... 'played tricks' with him and he just got er... confused and he thought that people were talking to him, telling him that everyone around him was evil, when really, they weren't.

Whitney looks shocked.
Ricky apologises to David for having previously called Joe a 'nutter' and that he didn't realise just how horrible it must be to have a son with schizophrenia. David says "It's alright."
Carol seems moved and she realises that David's no the only one whose had a bad time. He's lost a child too.

David says that everyone can stay at his for the night and they can go to visit Joe tomorrow and he's arranged with Lorraine that they can stay at Joe's until Friday. Tiffany and Morgan seem a little scared about meeting Joe and they tell Bianca that they're worried about him but Bianca tells them that he's fine as he's on his pills.
Once everyone is asleep, David pulls out some old photos of Joe and Karen from under his bed and he starts to cry.
