When will this new PS3 remote come to the UK/Europe?!

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/n...e-control.html

The article was dated in early October 2011, i'm just wondering when it will arrive?

I have 4 remotes (and the PS3 controller) so its quite annoying, with this remote I could reduce it to 2 remotes and the PS3 controller...

Not sure dreamy. It took a while for the official stereo headset to come out over here. Probably be a while.

Oh ok, thanks anyways. I gave up and bought the original remote but seeing as it can only assign itself to one PS3 (otherwise you have to always re-register it), I can buy the new one when it comes out, so i'll have one remote each for both my PS3s (fat and slim PS3, might as well keep the old one for a blu-ray player)

BTW I registered my slim PS3

Bump

Just had a quick search and nothing yet, will be almost a year since that article was published, really wish they would hurry up. Anyone else had any luck finding this?

I cant really see from the image, but does it have a power button? You only have to look at the original remote for it to turn the PS3 on

The standard remote is fine - you just have to press the PS button.

Don't think we'll see the new remote. It's like the charging dock - that's not available here either.

Pressing any button will turn on the PS3, pretty annoying.

Really? I'd only ever pick the remote up with the intention of using it anyway. If I was just cleaning the unit it was on, I just wouldn't press the buttons

Yes it is very annoying when you reach for something else and accidentally press a button on the remote and your PS3 comes on, so you have to change channels to turn it off.

You don't have to pick it up, just knock it by accident and "beep"

If you want this remote so badly, you could always try importing the new one?

I usually use videogamesplus.ca, but they only look like they have the standard one.

Pretty sure that's it.

I know right, I have a Sony TV, Sony amp, PS3 and Sky HD. With that remote I could control 3 of those things. I could half the remotes I use...

I was maybe thinking this, so the US remote would work on my UK amp, TV and PS3?

I don't see why not. You can buy the electronics we have here abroad. I should imagine you'd just have to program it.

I really want the charging dock so let me know where you import it from so I can check the prices
