On the other hand, if the faffing and props continue to the degree they did last year, we might just as well have Basil Brush on the panel as anyone else...imo

It would have been nice to have an 'Other' option, but I vote for Kara Tointon as she's kind, she's recognizable, she's experienced it and also has some dance training I think- what more could you ask?

If the OP PMs the MODS, they have software capability to add "Other" option at this late stage.

It would also be possible to provide additionally a list for ANTI voters. I.e. anyone who has no preference, but under no circumstances would want Joe Bloggs as judge can simply vote protectively for "NOT JOE BLOGGS".

I would not like Darcey or Kara to suffer the abuse meted out to judges. As Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy have been omitted from the list of candidates I am boycotting this poll under protest.

If Len, at his age, can cope with the commute back and forth from the US, surely she could.

I haven't voted because I have no strong preference for anyone on this list. However there are a lot of people I would not like to see! If it had to be a past pro I would go for Karen Hardy.

I love Kara but I'm 100% certain that she would not want this at all. She wants Artem to remain on the show so they can be together while she gets on with her acting career which is doing very well at the moment. If she was approached I'm sure she would turn it down.

I went for Erin - but with an agenda. Although I think that she would be a good judge, lose Erin from the pro dancers and there is less reason to keep Anton!

An enormous amount, actually. Technical knowlege gained over years, star quality, ability to interact with the other judges from a position of strength, poise and professionalism and total objectivity.

I agree, but I think that if the beeb were that interested in these admirable qualities they'd have already told the remaining judges to cut the childish panto crap and start behaving like adults again...but they haven't and I'm sure they won't in future either

I think the BBC should have guest judges to fill Alesha's role until they find someone who's most suitable to be made a permanent judge.

I voted for Karen but would be happy with Erin as well

I note that, so far, Kelly Brook is the only one not to have any votes. Thinking on it, Kelly is about the person most similar to Alesha of all of the potential candidates. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she's offered the job.

I'd take Arlene back even if she does prepare ass-inine alliterations and get steamed up about the male dancers in an unseemly way. At least she talked as if she really knew something and the panel had a chemistry with her on it. With Alesha nobody would bother disputing her superficial comments so she was a dead weight on the panel.
