Hi All
I have just purchased a philips bdp3200 and a LG 32LV355T. I appreciate these are diffent makes but I thought HDMI-CEC (aka Easylink in the case of Philips and Simplink for LG) was a set standard across all brands. Altho easylink and Simplink settings are all on the tv will not "see" the blu ray player and does not switch automatically when the player is turned on.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

Thanks

As I understood it features like Easylink and Simplink were brand associated, both devices need to be the same brand for it to work.

CEC is a design of HDMI, providing each device is CEC compliant it matters not what make they are.

Philips say Easylink is HDMI-CEC compatible and LG the same for Simplink, it seems to be a standard which...isn't!

Taken from LG's Glossary........

LG SimpLink™
SimpLink is LG’s connectivity technology, which allows LG products to conveniently communicate with any compatible LG device via an HDMI™ cable.

Something tells me LG have their own connectivity technology and will only work using their own brand name equipment.

Just a thought, not that I think anything will happen, but have you tried pressing the Simplink button on the LG remote?

You say they are all turned on....Try switching them off and just using the set up as normal.
