Liking the panel and the lineup in general this year
Crowd seem less hostile, probably due to Jason not being there so no distracting pantomime booing So many contenders this year, which is a good thing Looking forward to next week very much |

Corey was worst in the skate off....but he was told to 'go for it'!! See what he does next week....may have to keep the skating tunnel clear for him mind..... Todd Carty, eat your heart out!! LOL
Glad to see both Rosemary and Sam through this week too!! |

Laila came across as a very grumpy, unlikeable person... glad she's gone and the EE fanbase didn't keep her in...

I wonder if she was putting that on. After all she did say before the competition even started that she wanted out. So she puts on a miserable persona so no-one likes her and ergo she's in the skate-off.

Though I must say, good on her for having a go - and she was obviously in pain.

I remember reading her interview in the Mirror before the first show, where she said she doesn't mind when she leaves and she's aware that they ain't doing this for free, so overall she might be disappointed about leaving so early but she'll be fine I think.

Do they still get paid the same amount regardless of how many episodes they feature in?

I am glad that Laila is gone this week and Corey does get at least another week. (I did like Corey back in the day) Kind of wish they would have gotten another woman from Eastenders to participate.... Tameka Empson perhaps?
What was a bit weird for me was the same day that the cast list was announced, Laila included, I was watching an American talk show where the host was interviewing Gary Oldman, and he was talking about going to a party thrown by Jim Carrey at an Ice rink. I thought that was a bit surreal. |

If it wasn't for her injury I think she had great potential.

It wasn't pretty - but I've seen worse on DOI and she was game to give it a go.

Glad to see both Rosemary and Sam through this week too!! I wasn't expecting too much from Sam but I was very pleasantly surprised. I think he has some good potential. My only gripe about the show so far, is the long-shot overhead camera angles. Too much arty-farty focus on the (rather lovely) swirly patterned dance floor and less on the skaters. Otherwise, I am really enjoying it so far, and the judging panel are giving good critiques. Louis and Katarina have been a great addition

I thought that was a bit surreal. I didn't know that Leila Morse was the older sister of Gary Oldman. Wikipaedia says her stage name was an anagram of a phrase from one of his ex's. |

And frankly far too old and fat to be trying to skate, let alone skate and dance!

I didn't like Laila at all. I know she's much older than the others, and bigger, but she seemed like she didn't want to be there at all whenever anyone spoke to her - and not just after she found out she was in the skate off. It's not that I was expecting her to be jolly Big Mo or anything, but she had a face like a smacked arse through the whole programme. If her injuries were making her that miserable, she should have pulled out. Also, I think it looks weird when all the other women are being lifted and twirled and there is one who that can't be done with because of her weight/age...I'm all for a show like DOI being all inclusive and representing everyone, but I think they need to be sensible and realistic as well when it comes to who they ask to do the line up.
Glad Corey was saved. Surely he can only get better? He certainly can't get any worse. And at least he has personality and spark, unlike Laila (I seriously did not like her, can you tell?).Matthew was great but stupidly overmarked for his first week. I think someone getting two 7.0s in the first week is a bit ridiculous no matter how good they are, because what will be their motivation to push the envelope the week after that? Rosemary did much better than I thought she would, and seems genuinely nice. Jennifer was good, as was Chico. But I'm mostly looking forward to when Jorgie and Charlene skate again, because they were beautiful on the ice on week one. |
