Surely a piece of junk for that amount of money......right?

Anyone seen a cheaper one? haha.

It would probably be OK for media playback and basic games though you would probably need to use a stylus.

Wouldn't expect much out of the battery

Hhhmmm...no... LOL Not quite...I'd be willing to review it for the company though if they are offering freebies!

My tele is the - 42AV635D - I think it's about the bottom of the range at the time

Haha SNAP!! I have the same. It's pretty darn good though. Does HD very well. Got my pc hooked up to it through HDMI. Looks gorgeous. Even just playing HD content from youtube on it looks great. I paid 499 for it must be a couple years now I think.

ok I am 90% sure this is the tablet in question

Horrible and laggy. I couldn't even pay that much for it. I think it should be a rule of thumb to stay away from ultra cheap tablets. About £100 is about right when it comes to getting functionality and value for money.

It looks to be the same as one I bought for my 11 year old son at Christmas (though his claims to be from a company called MID).

It's actually pretty good for all the usual messing about. You do need a stylus and a firm press though - The guy in the video trying to do featherlight swipes of the thumb is setting himself up for a fall....

For £50 use it as a little media player and think of net access as a bonus.

Hmm well I guess you could get a little functionally out of it. As for the company thing it means they are all mass produced in a few factories in Shenzhen China. Then sold off in bulk for companies to stick their name on it. So better to pay attention to just the spec and if you can fins them reviews by searching copying and pasting the name and model number. Can sometimes find video reviews which let's you see it in action.
