Fantastic choreography last night!
I think the variety in routines last night was fantastic and the choreography was brilliant. I loved the ideas for Jens, Sebastiens and Matthews and thought Chicos and Sams were jam packed with moves! Even with Rosemary's routine I could appreciate the choreography and see had she skated faster how the whole thing would have looked so much better.
I love that the lifts are not showy-offy, they just fit well within the routines and even though I'm a fan of tnd's choreography generally I think they stepped it up a notch for last night Thoughts anyone?

In terms of skating styles I thought the two programmes most like traditional ice dance would have been Jennifer and Dan and Rosemary and Mark. I know that Rosemary and Mark were marked out as basic but they (and the other two) did some face to face dance stuff which is more challenging than side by side sktating. I suspect that if Jen & Dan had either skated faster, or had slower music, the visual impact of their routine would have been greater. The rest were more like pair or adagio/show routines, several exciting to watch but different in character.

I completely agree, and I think this is where Jayne and Chris get the balance just right! Ofcourse, they would love for every routine to be ice dancing based, but they appreciate the entertainment the show gives and appreciate the personalities of those involved... Sebastiens |

![]() Sebastiens routine suited him in a way for the first week, but I'm sure as much as Jayne and Chris will love working with someone so different they will challenge him to skate more together with brianne, and the challenge for them will be to get the balance right and do both |

I agree very much - nothing samey at all last night and Sebastien's routine stood out as particularly original and was very memorable.

Chico's and Matthew's routines had far too much dancing or posing in place, or walking on the ice.
![]() At the start of Chico's routine, I thought "this guy must be rubbish, unable to skate, or else why is he standing still for all this faffing about?" Then it turned out he could skate after all. So what the heck were T&D doing putting that rubbish in. ![]() And I thought both Chico and Matthew were greatly over-marked because of all the breaks from skating their routines gave them.

I think it's about building a routine, fitting it with the music, telling a story. The choreography for Chico's fitted the music, and I think when u see how much skating he actually did, it didn't matter that he was still at the beginning. Someone like Laila was still at the beginning and then not much skating for the rest reflecting her ability... Chicos went right into it after the opening
I think it does matter that he was still (or walking) for so long. All such breaks from skating make things easier for them, and they should be marked down accordingly. Laila did less because that's all she could manage, and she received low marks in consequence. |

Other choreography could have fit the music just as well. The music did not require that he stay in one place on the ice.

Suzanne's music or even chris' the way you make me feel from the tour, nothing takes away from how much skating there was in chicos routine... It was full of it and a nice little opener to boot |
