I agree that ITV are lazy when it comes to supporting DOI. A spin-off show would help to keep to connect with the celebs they didn't know already, and the professionals. They could give us a bit more insight into the technical side of things that the producers seem to be scared to spend too much time on during the main show.
It's laziness and greediness that the website is so poor. When the new line-up was announced, I thought I'd go there to watch all of the clips of the new contestants, but each short clip had two or three compulsory adverts as if I was about to watch a full tv show. The same adverts were being repeated, and it was taking so long that I gave up. It's so counter-productive.
Personally, I think the show is good this year, but ITV relied on a bit of controversy from Jason to get the casual fan through the over-long shows. They were wise to make last night's episode shorter, and to change the format.
Last week a lot of people were tuning in late, and that sort of thing does dent viewing figures, as does the BBC having some decent competition for the first time in years.
