iPod mains charger

If you leave the charger plugged into the wall (with no iPod attached) is it using any power?

Personally I would think not, as the charger feels cold to the touch.

Yes, it will still be using a little power - all power supplies will use some power, even when their outputs aren't connected to anything.

Thanks for that

Regardless of whether or not they use power, you should NEVER, EVER leave a transformer / charger plugged in when not in use. They can eventually overheat and phone chargers left plugged in but not in use are the cause of many home fires
