Used to like this routine but now I cringe when I hear the music. Can understand it is T&D's trademark, but don't we need a change for the final dance? Actually, I always thought their Barnum & Bailey routine was more fun
It's still an iconic piece in and of itself, but (for that reason) the contestants can't really do it justice IMO. I did toy with the idea of whether I'd like to see other T&D routines emulated but on reflection I'd much rather they create something showstopping of their own. (but I don't want the flying back!)

Not that crazy about it in the first place. Time for a change, methinks.
Sorry to disappoint you guys but it won't ever change. We on here are not representative of the wider viewing public who would probably be shocked if it changed.
Yes they did some other fantastic routines but Bolero is still seen by most people as iconic in a way that Barnum and Mack & Mabel will never be.

Me, too. Still watch the original routine on youtube from time to time and get goosepimples. Not so sure about the finalists' versions, though, although I suppose it is a useful point of comparison between couples to have them perform a routine to the same piece of music. Having them perform the exact same routine would be more useful still from that point of view.
At first I looked forward to the finalists doing it, and seeing T&D perform it but now, I'm over it. The way they go on about it leading up to the final....it's like we're about to witness the second coming!
