It's a wonderful piece of music, with or without skating.

And it's pretty much the only thing that T&D are famous for in the eyes of the general public.

At some point T&D are going to have to call it a day. I'd like to think at that point the show would carry on without them, but I can't see it happening. Who's got the public profile to be the focus? If the producers had any plans to extend the show past T&D they'd have moved on from Bolero by now.

Plus it's a big reminder that Britain has really achieved anything in ice dance/figure skating in the last 25 years.

They haven't hit the heights of Torvill & Dean of course but 2 European medals is a pretty decent achievement for the Kerrs.

Yes, a fantastic personal achievement.

But ask a general punter what they think of the Kerrs and you'll probably get a blank face. And I'm pretty sure the list of nations that have achieved more in the last 25 years is pretty long

Don't disagree - just thought that Kerrs achievements should be acknowledged, espcilly as those medals have come in the last 3 years & not say 15-20 years ago. You did say Britain had achieved nothing so not strictly true.

The Kerrs have done fantastically well , Don't think T&D want anyone stealing the limelight , sad really , time they moved on .

Must admit that I find the Bolero an anticlimax at the end of the series.

All those weeks just to find out whose Bolero is better - they should sort it out the Harry Hill way.

What's the Harry Hill way of sorting it out?

Nice as they are and the marvellous skaters they were for their time, I find their style of skating now a bit passé but of course realise that they are much older now and not as capable as they were.

In this case, they should step down and let younger more talented skaters take over and cast off that Bolero nonsense once and for all.

I am definitely not bored of Bolero! Atleast not Jayne and Chris' versions. I think the celebs boleros are not up to standard tho but I think this is due to the choreography of the pros- the only one I think that captured what bolero is, was ray and Maria... It built like its meant to and was well executed.

I do wonder how much is down to the producers, j and c keep doing different versions of bolero so I wonder if the producers overall are the ones to keep it, else if they didn't agree we wouldn't see it every year.

Whilst the effects of such a great routine for the celebs to try and do have probably worn off for us from the first series, for the celebs it is still a culmination of all their hard work and something that they see as a great honour to do, something that's evident in the vt's. I reckon if she gets there jorgies could be special
