- 10.1" Capacitive Screen
- 1024*600 Resolution
- 1Ghz Cortex A9 Processor
- 512Mb ram
- 8Gb storage + expandable 32Gb
- USB, Mini HDMI, 3G modem support
- Full HD compatible, MKV etc
- Front facing camera
- Flash support

Anyone have experience with it?

To be fair I think it's incredible what you can get for around the £150 mark these days. More than capable of web-browsing and playing a few games. Sadly the battery life always seems to let these cheaper devices down.

Has anyone got one of these and can comment on build quality and performance.

Thinking of getting one and would appreciate people's thoughts before going ahead.

I sent it back after a few days, the Ice Cream Sandwich version didnt support flash and the screen responsiveness was'nt great especially when scrolling down web pages.
I spent a bit extra for the xoom when they were on offer which was well worth it..

I've had one of these running ICS for a few days and pretty impressed. Previously running an Advent Vega modded with Vegacoomb ROM. This tablet seems fast and stable. There is an issue with Flash and Iplayer but I've now got video working on all BBC etc web pages, its just via Iplayer app or Iplayer webpage that problem remains. Not a problem for me as we have Slingplayer App working fine and I can access all recordings and live tv from Sky box, but could see this as dealbreaker (until fix available) for those wanting Iplayer. All the apps I've wanted from Market working fine.

Its no Ipad, but for £120 quid, its money better spent IMHO.

Thanks for the short review, I think I'm going to take the plunge and get one in a month or so. Could you let me know where you got yours from please? I've read you need to be careful of counterfeit versions so would be interested to know where you got yours for only £120,

Seen on ebay for around £120 http://www.ebay.co.uk/ctg/Zenithink-...d=p3286.c0.m14

Also here http://www.ebellking.com/android-tab.../zenithink-c91 for £125 with plenty of reviews.

I bought from here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...E:L:OU:GB:1123 based on feedback as they sent a folding case and sleeve with it.

One of those links says a capacitative screen, the other says resistive - do we know for certain which it is?

eg this one says resistive:

From the research I've done, the market is awash with counterfeit Zepads. I'm not 100% sure of course but I'd say the one that you've linked to is definitely a fake and should be avoided at all costs.

Personally I'd never purchase anything that's shipped from China as this one is. This thread has some useful advice on buying a legitimate Zepad;
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/2387...o-buy-the-c91/

I'd recommend spending more to ensure you get a legitimate Zepad. Maybe around the £150 mark although there may be ones for less.

Think I'm going for this one. It's a UK seller with UK stock which is important. It's also the ZT-280 Upgrade that has 1gb memory rather than 500mb. It's not the cheapest I know but with the good feedback I can only hope it's a real Zepad;

PS the one you linked to is the Z102 which does have a resistive screen;

Very helpful that! Thank you. I'm starting to feel the limitations of my Advent Vega and possibly/probably in the market for an upgrade.

Only issue to add to my previous comments seems to be problem with Wifi reconnecting after C91 put on stanby. I've set wifi to disconnect when unit is on standby but not convinved this works as it is immediately available when bringing out of standby, then disconnects. Turning wifi on and off brings back connection. For now I've left wifi on when in standby and no further problems. Battery seems excellent as even with unit in standby for whole day, there is plenty of juice for 4/5 hours on/off use in evening.

So, I just got an ZT-280 C91 upgrade with ICS - Flash still doesn't seem to be working, which is disappointing.

Have you looked on the Adroid Tablet forums to see if there are any other ROMs you can install on it that do have flash?

The ZT-282 doesn't have a Gingerbread ROM available - not compatible with the ZT-280 versions.

It's still a decent tablet for the price. Compared to my Advent Vega, it feels slower, the battery lasts half the time and Flash doesn't REALLY work yet (it's bits and pieces, eg some stuff works with Opera), but the screen is better and there's enough memory and internal storage to actually install more than a couple of games at a time (yes, I know about shifting to the SD card, even so you soon run out of space on the Vega's internal storage). It also seems to drain less on Standby, but that's possibly because of ICS (I run Corvus 2.3 on my Vega).

I hope the problems with Flash/iPlayer get sorted eventually.

If nothing else it's really made me appreciate how outstanding the Vega was for the money at the time.

I’ve a similar spec Ainol Elf – although a 7” screen which can run flash ok when using the Dolphin browser – at least it allows me to watch the F1 videos on the BBC website – don’t know if that may be worth trying.

I've used the built-in browser, Opera and Dolphin. Using Flash 10.2 and also the latest version. Now apparently the 10.2 should work but I couldn't get it to.

With Dolphin, if I go to iPlayer I can navigate the menus to get to a programme, but when I hit play it looks like it's buffering and then crashes the browser - it's a commonly known problem. I'm just surprised it isn't more of an issue with people. If you're not watching streaming video though, it's still a great cheap tablet but there are other options out there without that limitation.

I've a Slingbox but haven't bought the app as it gets very mixed reviews (not to mention being expensive). Does it work well with a Sky HD box - I'd read that it was difficult to access the PVR functions of the Sky box?

I've found slingbox app (there are 2 versions for tablet/phone)works fine with my tablets and phone (htc desire s). Once you get used to the app's interface (a bit clunky), its no problem controlling the box and planner. It does take 2/3 seconds for commands via app to be actioned by box.

The app has come in useful for watching football etc when I've been away in somewhere with good wifi/ 3g reception. Wife has just about forgiven me for night she was settling down to watch something as I changed over to footie from hotel hundreds of miles away!

Thanks for the reply. I've been using Slingplayer on my laptop for 2 or 3 years but now I've got a tablet I want to leave the laptop at home when I'm away.

Looking further into it, I see the app doesn't actually work with my Slingbox Pro. Also reading the reviews it seems that the app has been improved since it was introduced.

Did you buy both phone and tablet apps or are you using the phone app on the tablet?

I've got basic slingbox and paid for both apps. As I remember the phone app worked ok on tablet but didn't give you options on aspect ratio. Tablet version allowed full screen on tablet but both had option for high/low quality, depending on wifi speeds available.
