( i know i made a post about this a while ago, but it's nearly time so wanted to know if there were any more helpful tips!)

I'm due to have a baby in the next few weeks, and i live in a house with 3 cats - what is the best way to prepare them for the new addition to the family?

I have 2 girls which are 2 & a half that are mainly indoor cats due to the fact that i don't have a cat flap, although i do open the windows for them or back door for them to go have an explore for a few hours each day if i'm in the house, although they seem to prefer just being inside!

Then my housemate has an adopted rescue cat who is about 17 , who has been in the house for a couple of months now, she practically lives in my housemates bedroom where her food / litter tray is as she's not very good on the stairs & my cats really do not seem to like her
They are constantly hissing at her whenever she is near them, and she tried to lash out at them the other day.
My housemate keeps her bedroom door shut when she is out as she's perfectly happy just being in that room since she sleeps most of the day anyway, & we worry that the cats would end up fighting if left alone together.

This is why i worry what my cats will make to a new baby - just because they have always been the only cats & they are very close to me, they are always coming to sit where ever i am in the house & will follow me upstairs as they like being around me. They have never ever bitten or scratched anyone though, they really are the softest cats i've ever known.
But i just worry they might feel left out or jealous

I have already gotten them into the routine of sleeping in the kitchen / dining room area where there beds / litter tray / food all are, so they are shut in there overnight & since i've being doing that for a while now they are fine with that & used to the routine.

I've already had to put the raincover on the pram as one of the cats assumed it was her new bed!
I'm going to set up the moses basket this week so they can get used to that & so i can teach them that it is not for them!

Anyone else had experience on introducing cats to the new baby?

I'm hoping my housemates cat will be okay with the baby too as she's a bit temperamental with her temper & she's lashed out at me on a few occassions. So will have to watch her very closely.

Just to add, i won't be leaving my cats alone with the baby & will be watching them with him.
