There was a family near us on the local news a few years ago who had one. No, they make awful pets as they will see you as their 'pack' and will attack anyone else who enters the house.

Unless you have a dwa you won't be able to get one. They are vicious and have one hell of a bite.

A friend of ours was looking into getting a racoon..still is..someone came to visit him last weekend with their pet racoon on a lead..he was very sute to look at but the owner picked him and he bit her several times as well as pulling at and biting her head/hair..I dont think I would fancy that!

As well as the DWA meaning no you can't, there is also no such thing as being able to keep one as they have to live in a group - a mob - and they need to be able to dig burrows.

It would be very cruel to keep a Meerkat as a pet. If you ever watched Meerkat Manor you would see the kind of life and habitat they are accustomed to.
