I was just wondering if anyone knew any shampoo, conditioner or treatments I can put on my hair to make it grow quicker and also make it thicker? thanks

I'm using the Lee Stafford Hair growth stuff from Boots. Not noticed dramatic changes but its getting there slowly.

Ive just started using his My Big Fat Healthy Hair shampoo and conditioner too and with that I have noticed a difference.

My hair is fine blonde middle of my back and it definately looks fuller when dried.

Hi Kurk. A few months ago I started taking Linwoods flaxseeds (in their superfoods range) for general good health and within a week - I kid you not - I started to see quite a significant reduction in the amount of hair I was losing down the shower plughole every morning. The weird thing is that it took me another week or so to make a connection between the two (I'm generally not that observant / perceptive! ) then I started monitoring the amount of hair loss daily. Only then could I appreciate I really was, 100% sure that I was seeing a difference, both in the amount being lost, and the condition of those remaining on my head! My hair is a noticeably thicker & to me, feels stronger. I only take about 1.5 tablespoons a day but it has become second nature to just put it in my muesli or on yogurt.

Reading over what I've written, it sounds as though I'm on commission to promote it!! I promise you there is no ulterior motive here, in fact I recommended it to my sister & she didn't notice any difference in her hair. Maybe I just got lucky (and hair growth is certainly not a benefit that Linwoods use in the publicity for any of their superfoods range - I've checked!), for which I am extremely grateful, but it's certainly worth a shot & seeing how you get on for a few weeks. Best of luck

Flaxseed oil is excellent if you can tolerate the taste - I just can't. Applying castor oil, with a couple of drops of peppermint oil and massaging the mixture into the scalp may help also.

I would recommend using a protein treatment. Protein helps strengthens the hair and over time it can thicken it. This has certainly helped me, my hair is much more dense and more weight to it than how it was a few years ago.

Sami Fat Hair and Loreal Elvive for Men both work really well at thickening up the hair. Sami Fat Hair is quite expensive but Superdrug usually have 2 for 1 type deals on the products.

Would also like to echo this about Sami fat hair products, I use this for curly hair and think it is brilliant.

With regard to flaxseed and linseed - I have been using them as a supplement for my horse for some time to help promote a healthy coat and mane, its really does help. People with show horses use it all the time to get the best out of their horses. Horse shampoos containing linseed supplements are also good as it a good quality horse shampoo, they should be used sparingly ,about 1/2 the amount you would normally use is more than enough. Lots of people tell me how lush and shiny my hair is, they don't believe me when I tell them its down to horse shampoo!
