Later......With Jools Holland
So the guy never stops walking and talks like a bit of a pleb, but I do really enjoy this show and I have done for many years. Discovered a lot of music on here that I probably would not have done otherwise and for that I salute the boogie woogie meister. One of the best performances I've seen would be KT Tunstalls first appearance, blew me away.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mydqu3IUpoU Any other knock out performances from this show anyone cares to share? |

I found this vintage Jools Holland performance this morning (from 93/94 I think) of Sarah McLachlan performing Possession

The Civil Wars from a pretty recent show. They blew people away so much they ended up trending worldwide on twitter the night of the transmission.
All their 3 performances in one sitting! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN-Q9wlCzKY Note: At 2.44 in there appears to be the sound of a member of the audience experiencing what can only be described as an aural orgasm ![]() ![]() Of course, one of THE seminal debut performances would have to be this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwmVixeY7p0 Talking of amazing debuts, this one would be up there. Amazing as she was here, who could have predicted what would happen just 4 years later?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q_z2WkSKTc |

I enjoyed when Brian Wilson was on, must've been a few years ago when he was promoting Smile, thought he was impressive. |

Billie Jean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDoilsbt3BU See my earlier post - I concur 100%, they were beyond amazing, weren't they? I'd already got the album or I would have definitely bought it straight after the show! I have a feeling in my waters that they may sneak a surprise Grammy next month.

![]() I love discovering...ok, I didn't discover them. ......something new and refreshing! Restores my faith in the music scene!Yes, the show is great for discovering new (to us!) music. There are quite a few posts on their youtube Jools uploads stating the poster only really tuned in to see Laura Marling but ended up being blown away by The Civil Wars. 'Later' is imo the most important music show of the last decade at least. This audience member seemed to be enjoying their performance a little too much ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN-Q9wlCzKY&t=2m44s |

So many superb performances on Later, too numerous to mention.
A few great female performances that spring to mind are: Out Of Our Heads by Sheryl Crow. Teach Me Tonight by Amy Winehouse. Gloria by Patti Smith Big Exit by PJ Harvey |

Yep, have to agree, it's a great show! We need music shows such as Jools Holland to showcase some of the amazing talent that there is out there.
First really got into Daniel Merriweather, through his performances on the show. His vocals are incredible on this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYH6frpwf58 |

As you mentioned OP KT Tunstalls debut on 'Jools...' was fantastic, that's when I first got into her music. Talented lady. I'm sure there are some other vids of artists too but I can't remember at the moment.
