I play the guitar (badly) so I do enjoy that and I think it can be very versatile, depending on what band you listen to. Bit of a soft spot for the piano too. But I think I'd have to say the violin, I think when it's used inventively it can really make a song, it's like the icing on the cake.

Case in point - Cliquot by Beirut. The violin at the end is just perfect.

I play other instruments, some of which can be very versatile in terms of sound (keyboards, guitar) but I'll always love the piano more.

I like the versatility of guitars. In the right hands they can be bass, rhythm, lead and percussion, all in one.

I don't dislike any instrument as long as its played well (although the recorder grates) but my favourites have to be the uillean pipes and violin/fiddle.
