Don't think this has been mentioned before but when Sherlock says "You re-pel me!" into Kitty's dictaphone, some think he is saying:

"You rap-pel me!"

Rappel

a mountaineering term for descending steep faces.

And Kitty repeats the phrase to Sherlock in her flat.

Interesting.

Surprising that the script writers got this one wrong...the correct word should have been "repulse", which I take it was the intended meaning.

"You repel me" means "you push me away".

If, as I believe they did, they intended something along the lines of "you disgust me", then "repulse" was a much more appropriate word than "repel"

Something I observed in the Irene Adler episode was that Sherlock was reading a newspaper and there was an article with the headline, Refit for Historical Hospital.

Which hospital?

I've said before...Sherlock fell on Molly, who sacrificed herself willingly. That's why we didn't see her at all afterwards.
In her final moments Sherlock was on-top of her, though not in the way she had fantasised about.

Seriously, though, Sherlock would not ask, nor allow, Molly to sacrifice herself for him. He pretty much said she had every right to not want to help him and shun him, and was impressed by her strength of character and loyalty, unusual for him as SH tends to only value intellect.

Good one regarding Colonel Moran. We've not seen him yet. Or, have we??? Hmmm.
Just what I was thinking.

In the original books, was Moran Irish? Was Moriarty?

I don't know that Sherlock only values intellect. He obviously values John, who isn't intellectual.

As for Molly - maybe that "I need you" just meant he wanted to find out what sex was like before he died.

Here's my take on The Reichenbach Fall episode. This article contains a lot of spoilers and so only read if you have seen the episode or if you want to read spoilers. I'm not part of the show, just an inquisitive viewer:

So not only is he a genius and a spectacular private detective he's also a master of quick change?

Took some SS off iPlayer - god how sad is that - and it's definitely not Sherlock on the bike.

Not sure whether this has been posted before but is it possible Molly got bodies for Sherlock to throw off the roof to see where to place the soft landing. This may explain the bloodstains on the parapet.

Also if you look on google street view, there is a single storey ambulance station which would have blocked Watson's view of the ground where SH would have landed. He never saw him land, either on the ground or in the truck.

I have clearly spent too long observing Benedict Cumberbatch.
However, Sherlock is a master of disguise and it wouldn't be surprising if he'd had a cycling outfit under his coat etc which he could whip off when necessary.

I got the box set of series 1 & 2 on Tuesday. Haven't watched it yet, although I have watched the last episode 4 times on the iplayer *blushes*.

Looking forward to watching the older episodes with commentary on the DVD and the unaired pilot episode.

DI Jones concluded Sherlock jumped into the rubbish truck while Molly threw a prepared body out of a lower window.

Well worth a watch on iplayer, if only for the Blue Peter style ferret moment.

Una Stubbs on the sofa talking about Sherlock and career. She knew Benedict when he was a kid, didn't know that.

Ah, Una was on. I wondered why Alex was talking about it. Well that's that all wrapped up then. Must have a look at iplayer

I got it yesterday and watched The Hounds of Baskerville, as I'd only seen it once before.

I also watched the extra - a piece called Sherlock Uncovered.

(Calm down - it's just how they did certain effects, not BC stripping off. I know. Pity.)

In spite of that it's very interesting, and BC talks about doing the jump from the roof.

Later I will go through the last episode frame by frame in search of clues.

Btw, did anyone else think about the various winners of the NTAs - "make the most of it - next year will be Sherlock's!"?

If anyone is still trying to figure out how Sherlock faked his death. Here's a theory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0Hu2BSHiAg

watched the last episode again yesterday and noted the IOU theme is there in a few extra places. e.g. there is graffiti on the wall opposite Sherlock's front door when Watson goes back to see Mrs Hudson as he thinks she is shot.

Is there any explanation of the IOU?

I just thought it was Moriarty having planned ahead and painted/arranged for Sherlock to be constantly reminded as his situation unravelled so Sherlock would notice while others wouldn't. Like the IOU with the window blinds that only Sherlock noticed happen.

I noticed that in the programme also, the little roof on a long shot of Watson looking up at Sherlock.
