That might be a good idea!

That might be why I never notice things other people do.

On the site http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b018ttws

something puzzling me, why does the door say 221B and there are two bells and a knocker.

if you were to send a letter to SH would it be 221BB?

In one of the interviews I saw with Moffat, (or perhaps it was on the DVD commentary - yes, I am that sad) he said that the door should really have said just 221 as the flats would be A/B/C, but the 221B on the door was too iconic not to be used.

So apart from the using the same names, then, it's nothing remotely to do with Sherlock Holmes?

Why do they have to do a US version that has a completely different storyline with a man and a woman and still call it Sherlock Holms? It's just weird and pointless. They should be calling the man sth else, one that doesn't envolve Sherlock Holmes at all. It's like they are just using his name but doing sth irrelavent. I'm not at all sure that it could work.

Yes, why don't they just buy our version of Sherlock and be done with it, like we buy CSI, NCIS, The Mentalist etc

Probably because CBS is a main network, and they will want a standard US season of 22 episodes.

^^ This, plus I doubt they actually care about the backstory, they just see something successful and want to make a quick buck.

You are welcome, sandy.

If anyone is interested , there's a thread about Lucy Liu and the American version of Sherlock in the TV Shows US forum.

Interesting Sherlock tease in Toby Whithouse's Being Human this week
(He's a DW colleague of Moffat & Gattis). Nothing we hadn't all worked out already.

A coroner, Dr Wilson, looking very much like Molly, is confronted by
a very Sherlock Hal and admits to falsifying a post mortem. (iplayer 26m:12s)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...Spectre_Calls/

Don't know whether its deliberate but later on one of the same alleys Sherlock and Watson
escaped the cops through makes an appearance with the same 'Vollaticus' grafitti. (36:00 - 36:13)

Did anyone else wish BBC Sherlock could have 22 episodes? I'd be happy with six, but then I guess they'd have to chain the actors and producers and writers down for a few months and try to eke out the source material even more.

Still, three episodes is just grrr

Of course more would be nice. I mean the waiting really is torment, specially with something like this, with such a cliffhanger and all. But then they are making film-quality episodes and I like it when TV can reach the standard of films.
Which is why I'm doubtful about the US version.

Thing is, if you're comparing it to 22 US episodes then what we do get is equivalent to 6 episodes, so are you happy?

Lol that is true! I'll be fickle and ask for 6 hour-longs then instead

I appreciate the quality which can't be easy to produce, but I want more Sherlock stories! I bet this was how ACD's original fans felt

What's wrong with that?

I'm looking forward to the Hobbit movie, and the new Star trek movie, but part of me thinks "Why are Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman swanning off doing other things when they should be here making more SHERLOCKS!"

Hi I'm new here but have been lurking sometime and read all the Sherlock posts. I have been interested in Sherlock Holmes for many years and have really the BBC series.

It looks from this that we are not going to get much more of Jim/James Moriarty in future series.

It's Moffat.

Rule one: Moffat lies.
