It's on next week. I'm sure an announcement was made to that effect.

I agree that it would be a good idea for sport to have it's own BBC channel, but given that it hasn't, I'm glad that they chose to show the entirety of the Murray match. Yesterday's tennis was far more exciting than Sherlock!

I'm sorry for the people who don't like tennis, but Wimbledon is only a fortnight once a year! It's not like the neverending dreary football.

Also, the series being shown is the second series - surely if you've never seen it, it would be better to start with the first?

I would think it is just delayed rather than 'cancelled'. If they had moved to BBC2 instead of Kate Humble's prorgamme than most who had set it to be recorded by their PVR would have missed it.

It's on next week, as I said.

That's why they had a repeat of Sherlock on....so it could be cancelled in case of the tennis....who would have guessed, forward planing from the BEEB.

I'm sure Would I Lie To You? hasn't finished it's run yet, so that should have been on this week, at 8.30.

Would I Lie to You wasn't planned for this week. My TV planner said 8 of 9 for last week but it wasn't in the schedule this week. The announcer of course said nothing at the end of last week's episode. They only say something when a programme is on the next week.
I found out today that the compilation end of series episode is on at 10:35pm on 19th July.

Thanks for taking the time to give me that information; I'm just not sure what use it will be to me.

Your sister has taste, it's brilliant. Sky planner will catch up soon I'm sure. Next Friday Sherlock series 2 part 1 "A Scandal in Belgravia' 8.30pm BBC1HD.
Seen it loads of times on DVD but will love to see it again but now in HD.

I knew that.
They planed a repeat....so it could be cancelled, and have less people moan about it, so they were hoping - I'm guessing they didn't think many would be bothered about a 'repeated' programme being postponed.

I'm sure less people would moan if it hadn't been the best thing on TV last night! I couldn't find anything at all to watch, I was looking forward to Sherlock

I might have had a look at it but hardly the best, Kate Humble's programme was very interesting.

Thank you for replies. I wasn't too concerned about Sherlock as I was hooked on the tennis myself last night but I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss the rescheduled one. I somehow missed the announcement about the postponement but I guessed it would start next Friday instead.

I do agree though - not everyone is a tennis fan and really I couldn't see any reason why transmission had to go on to BBC1.

Many more people seem to be willing to watch a programme on BBC one than if it were on BBC Two. It's as if there is some sort of stigma attached to BBC Two.

There is an element of status to it as well and probably keeps the Wimbledon authorities happy. You can guarantee that if his match had remained on BBC2 then there would be a headline in at least one Scottish newspaper that Murray had been demoted to BBC2 whilst a Laura Robson match had been on BBC1. Might sound petty but they are like that. Never mind, we can all put our 'Anyone but Murray' T-Shirts away after tomorrow.

The BBC always say that BBC1 is their flagship channel and therefore something as momentus as British player playing getting past round 1 of Wimbledon just HAS TO BE on BBC 1 regardless of where it was originally scheduled, or how many who have set their recorders for something other than Wimbledon they really annoy.

I've complained, as I do every year, not about Wimbledon overrunnning, but them scheduling something worth watching which is then cancelled instead of scheduling some of the rubbish they have in their archives which no-one would care about if it's cancelled. It doesn't take a genius to think of that, but it seems there's no-one with even a modicum of sense in the BBC scheduling department, even though they frequently schedule rubbish at other times.

Repeats of 'Celebrity Weakest Link' or 'Celebrity Pointless" or 'Don't Scare the Hare' would be ideal candidates.

I don't think them showing the Murray match was the issue - of course they're going to show it. It's them moving it from the channel it's scheduled on to another channel that annoys me, just to accomodate cretins who apparently can't switch to BBC2.

Really pleased Andy has won, by the way. First Scotsman to win Wimbledon, I believe!

I agree, I said in my earlier post I don't know why they didn't keep the tennis on BBC2. But I've given up trying to work out the rationale behind the BBC's decisions.

I too am glad that Andy won, even though (whisper it) I actually prefer Djokovic.

I don't know how much of this is true, but apparently the title of the third episode of Series 3 is hidden somewhere in the three repeats of Series 2, coming up on the BBC (one word per episode, I presume?). The first letter will appear around 15 minutes into the episode of 'A Scandal in Belgravia', for example (according to a BBC teaser).

Series Three:

Episode 1 - The Empty Hearse
Episode 2 - The Sign of Three
Episode 3 - ???????

Did anyone notice the episode title clues? Another forum suggested that the letters H I M were seen. Specifically the H was in the top left of the screen when John was shaking Harry's hand in Buckingham palace at about 16 minutes in. Can't see it on iplayer though.

Apparently the clues were in the subtitles?

From what I can gather, it is one word per episode, isn't it?

I didn't see it tonight as I'm watching the Proms.

I won't be watching episode 2 next week either, as I found it very uncomfortable to watch the first time round.

So, I'll be relying on this thread for updates.

Spoiler
H I S? His last bow?

Spoiler
I'd be sad if it is.

(Spoilered in case some people don't want to know - not saying I'm right.

Spoiler
Could be, Granny. Then again, we know there is to be a fourth series (I'm not sure that they wanted us to know though). It would be just like Moffat and Gatiss to lead us to believe that series 3 finale was THE END.

They don't usually use the actual ACD titles though, do they? Perhaps it is an amalgamation of canon stories? I don't know.

I can just picture Benedict keeping bees mind.

Can't wait for the new series.
